Snack Brands Australia

Snack Brands Australia (SBA) is one of the largest suppliers of snack foods in Australia and acts as the main competitor to PepsiCo's subsidiary The Smith's Snackfood Company. SBA was formed in August 1998 and is owned by Snack Foods Limited, which is in turn owned by Campbell Soup Company.

After The Smith's Snackfood Company, the largest producer of salty snack foods, was acquired by Frito-Lay, the second largest producer of salty snack foods in Australia (whom are a subsidiary of PepsiCo,) Frito-Lay agreed with the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) to divest a range of brands to prevent unfair trading practices resulting from a monopoly. Those brands included;

Additionally, several manufacturing facilities were released including plants in South Australia, New South Wales and Victoria. The package was then named 'Snack Brands Australia' and was sold to Dollar Sweets Holdings now Snack Foods Limited.
