I dispute the statement that a photo could easily be taken of this unit.

You would need to find a unit to photograph and someone would need to be willing to allow it. I could not find someone willing. If you can, feel free to replace it with the free photo. --akc9000 (talk contribs count) 22:53, 9 July 2007 (UTC)

This image is from a press kit. I was given this by the vendor when I requested to take a photo of the unit. There are thousands of Fair use photos from press kits on wiki. Do not see an issue with this image as opposed to the others. --akc9000 (talk contribs count) 16:25, 10 July 2007 (UTC)

Wikipedia policy is to have no photo at all rather than a non-free photo whenever it is possible to create a free photo. The fact that the image is from a press kit does not change the fact that is not free content. nadav (talk) 21:52, 10 July 2007 (UTC)
Please point me to that policy, Wiki's policy states that they would rather have a free photo if one could reasonably be obtained rather than having a fair use photo. It does not state that they would rather have none. Please show me where it states they would rather have none. I think your statement is not correct.
Furthermore, if that statement was correct. Please explain why there are so many other fair use photo from press kits on Wiki. Are you going to sit and tag them all as well? I am not sure what your issue is with these photos but I do not see a policy that states what you infer. --akc9000 (talk contribs count) 13:06, 11 July 2007 (UTC)

This is a photo of a network attached storage device. (disk drive). They are not a common item that may be found. No free alternative was available. The photo deomonstates not only what the device looks like but the fact that it looks and acts nothing like a normal disk drive, (in a way words alone could not express). --akc9000 (talk contribs count) 02:04, 13 July 2007 (UTC)

I have requested permission from susan from adaptec who created this photo for me to grant me permission to use it. --akc9000 (talk contribs count) 19:49, 13 July 2007 (UTC)
