I'm 18 years old and a Freshman at Texas A&M University. I am majoring in Microbiology and minoring in Music Theory/Composition.

I was never really interested in music theory until the last 3 years. After attempting to write a composition and finding out that it actually sounded good, I went on to learn as much theory as I could and continued composing. Now I have reached a point where I feel that traditional theory is becoming a little bit boring and so I've moved on to learning more in the field of sound acoustics, tuning/temperament, and music theory of ethnic cultures.

I joined the WikiProject on tunings, temperaments, and scales with the hope that I might be able to find the time to contribute at least something to the page but I have been quite busy lately so I am not sure how much I will be able to help out.

I know a quite a bit about music theory and at least the basics of temperament so if you have any questions I would be happy to try to answer them.

My music tastes vary but for the most part I enjoy classical (especially 20th century/atonal), electroacoustic music, jazz, techno/trance, ethnic music (especially Middle Eastern/Indian/Spanish), and also a lot of metal. Some of my favorite metal bands are Emperor (band), Opeth, Children of Bodom, Symphony X, Blind Guardian, Kreator, and others.

For the last 3 and a half years or so I've played electric guitar and more recently, classical as well. I played piano for 6 years prior to taking up guitar. I still compose a lot of music...other than college, music takes up most of my free time. I compose primarily electroacoustic music, Middle Eastern, classical/orchestral, some flamenco/spanish/acoustic style pieces, and the occasional death metal song when I get a good idea.

My favorite scale is the Double Harmonic Major scale.
