[edit] Sukhdev Singh Jalwerha
Hi,
I removed {{db-bio}} from Sukhdev Singh Jalwerha because the article does assert notability. It asserts that the person is notable for being a former member of a group notable enough to have an article and for being related to a person notable enough to have an article.
Now, it may be that the person is in fact notable (i.e., that the assertion of notability is wrong). If so, it should probably be brought up on AfD.
"Technically" we can only speedy for articles that don't claim notability in any way, although speedies for things that aren't really notable do in fact happen all the time as we WP:IAR.
Anyway, just wanted to explain myself. If you want to put the speedy tag back on it or bring it to AfD, go ahead. Thanks for the work to catch articles that shouldn't be here. Jdavidb (talk • contribs) 19:23, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
No problem! I'm often overeager myself!
Just got Chris Streige (or whatever it was), btw, even though the vandal had come back and removed your tag. Grr. Jdavidb (talk • contribs) 19:27, 3 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Did You Know, Puerto Rico?
Hey Amigo, I was thinking of adding a Did You Know? section to the article Puerto Rico. In that section we could post little known interesting facts about our island and our people. It would be serve as an educational tool that would motivate others to read about our island. An example of what I plan is this:
Did You Know?
- That the first shot fired by the United States in World Wae I was in Puerto Rico and not in Europe? It was fired by Lt. Teofilo Marxuach.
- That the first opera in history to be recorded was recorded by tenor Antonio Paoli?
- That Puerto Rico once had a President? His name was Francisco Ramirez Medina.
I want to consult with you and my other Boricua Panas. I would like to receive any input. Tu Amigo Tony the Marine 19:59, 4 February 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks for you response. You're right, it should remain as a "Did You Know?" instead of a "Trivia". I believe then that it should be stated as: "Did You Know? - These are interesting but, little known facts about Puerto Rico and its people". I will need your help as an overseer to keep random facts off the section. Remember, put Puerto Rico on your watchlist. Tu Amigo, Tony the Marine 01:24, 5 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Barnstar
I would like to award you this Barnstar for your contributions and for putting the name of Puerto Rico "en alto". Tu Amgo, Tony the Marine 02:27, 5 February 2006 (UTC) (P.S. You may place it in your User Page, if you wish.)

[edit] Help
Here goes another anon who has no knowlege of how Wiki works and has posted a good article for deletion. It's about Norma Candal, please vote here: [[1]] and help fight this injustice. Thank you Tony the Marine 05:06, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks for your message
Mi Hermano, you know that you are one of my main guys here and that we are a collision of Boricuas that must defend what is right here. You know what really bothers me sometimes? When people who have absolutely no knowledge of Puerto Rico or it's people start to edit those articles. For example, the Military history of Puerto Rico was voted a feature article and it even appeared in the Main Page. Then a year later you get some dumbnut that comes with something like this:
== Featured Article? ==
The article is sadly not one of the best Featured articles out there, and a prime subject for WP:FARC. I'm going to try to improve this article out some in the next few days. Something that could be done is by expanding the lead as it is currently too short. Also needs a copyedit. Thanks --Jaranda wat's sup 06:40, 12 February 2006 (UTC)
You see why we Boricuas must stand together and defend what is right? I'm glad to have befriended you and the others who stand up for what is right. Tu Amigo, Tony the Marine 04:06, 14 February 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Re:WikiProject Puerto Rico Collaboration
Hi Smylere Snape. I have begun a collaboration of the month for the Puerto Rico Wikiproject. The collaboration is Accentuation. I have created a template and a subpage for it. The template can be found at the top of the project and the details for the collaboration can be accessed through the navigation template or by clicking here. Please tell me what you think about all this. Joelito 22:38, 2 March 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Grito de Lares
We now have somebody who wishes to change the name of The Grito de Lares to Lares Outcry. Please express your opinion here: Talk:Grito de Lares (The Cry of Lares). Thank you. Tony the Marine 00:14, 25 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] List of Puerto Ricans
One of the main concerns about the "list" is that it is getting out of control and that many names of people who have only had their "15 minutes of fame" or simply are non-notables are being added. I propose that we set up guidelines as to who should be admitted with a clear definition as to the terms "notable" and "fame". I am calling upon the parties interested to express their opinion and to help develope these guidelines. I believe that after we take a vote and reach a consensus, said guidelines should be followed and posted either on the article or the articles talk page. We need your help. I wrote the article Dr. Jose Celso Barbosa Post Office Building Designation Act, the first bill in history that contains an article from Wikipedia. [edit] Check this out
Check out this entery in the Portal:Puerto Rico/Did you know
"That Puerto Rico is not a country, but is a Commonwealth of the United States?" and
"That Puerto Rico has never been a country?"
I don't know, but that doesn't make any sense to me. What do you think? Tony the Marine 06:32, 28 December 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Non-free use disputed for Image:Def-Bot-FINAL 05.gif
This file may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading Image:Def-Bot-FINAL 05.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read carefully the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content and then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our Criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 00:14, 3 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Unspecified source for Image:Biografia_mariano.jpg
Thanks for uploading Image:Biografia_mariano.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, then you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, then their copyright should also be acknowledged.
As well as adding the source, please add a proper copyright licensing tag if the file doesn't have one already. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Fair use, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the image is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the image will be deleted 48 hours after 11:29, 28 July 2007 (UTC). If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. MER-C 11:29, 28 July 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Def-Bot-FINAL 05.gif
Thanks for uploading Image:Def-Bot-FINAL 05.gif. However, there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please read the instructions at Wikipedia:Non-free content carefully, then go to the image description page and clarify why you think the image qualifies for fair use. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it will be deleted within a couple of days according to our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 21:01, 13 February 2008 (UTC)
[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Aquinohaydvd.jpg
Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Aquinohaydvd.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use. Suggestions on how to do so can be found here.
Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.
If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Project FMF (talk) 23:53, 25 February 2008 (UTC)
