The Deutschland was a Kaiser class armoured frigate designed by Sir Edward Reed and built by Samuda Brothers at Cubitt Town, London. Fitted with a sailing rig which was removed during refitting at the Imperial Dockyard, Wilhelmshaven, from 1894 to 1897. She became a harbour ship in May 1904. On November 22, 1904 she was renamed Jupiter. She was struck from the German Imperial Navy list on May 21, 1906, and used as a target ship before being sold in 1908.
