Hullo Geoff here.
Wikipedia is a very interesting place or phenomonon, however you choose to look at it. As an encyclopedia of everything it must be hard to beat. Who is going to go out and spend substantial amounts of money on a printed encyclopedia when current events will make it redundant in a few weeks on topical issues. Just consider the entries on Saddam Hussein, Tony Blair, Gordon Brown, Putin or George W.Bush. I think it's definitely here to stay and quite democratic too, the only exception I have found so far is the entry on Reagan which is heavily biased in the subject's favour and a small clique of Reaganites prevent a single word being changed.
I spend a lot of my spare time playing Go (board game). I claim to be a 1 Dan, am probably weaker but enjoying playing even games against 1 Dans and small handicap (6 komi) against 2 Dans. I have beaten about 60 1 Dans and about 15 2 Dans but I lose far, far more. I have beaten two 3 Dans. I play at https://home.wwgo.jp/ where my handle is Geoff. I get a bit depressed after losing a lot of games and retreat to the Internet Chess Club www.chessclub.com where I can win a few 3 0 chess games. I am usually about 1800 there.
SmokeyTheCat is a phenomonon in that he is a much better mathematician than Diana Ross, a considerably better singer than Sly Stallone, a far more accomplished cook than Lenin, a vastly better boxer than Kate Moss and a lot taller than Danny De Vito. Despite all of this he is not rich nor famous for some obscure reason.
"I've had a good evening but this wasn't it." Groucho Marx
"Brevity is the soul of lingerie." Dorothy Parker
"Los Angeles is what happens when 72 suburbs get together in search of a city." Also Dorothy. (I've never been to LA but this seems like a cool thing to write about it.)
New pages I have created are:-

I also created one of for Susana Reche but she was considered too unimportant and was deleted. So now you'll never know who she is unless you Google her. I still think she deserves a mention but was in a minority of one.
I have made contributions to, amongst others, :-
[edit] To Do List
Get all the Sarah Vaughan albums currently listed in red changed to blue. This will take some time as I will have to buy all the albums but will still be a pleasure.
