The Smoky Honeyeater (Melipotes fumigatus) is a species of bird in the Meliphagidae family.
It is found in Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montanes.
The Macgregor's Giant Honeyeater is a closely related species of honeyeater with a similar appearance. Another separate but similar species, the Wattled Smoky Honeyeater, was discovered in 2005 in the Foja Mountains.
