About Instant Karma
Was Instant Karma really released as a single? If it was, it would be in the Discography and I looked and it wasn't there. CRBR 16:11, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sure thing, I was just pointing that out because it wasn't anywhere.CRBR 16:37, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
- That's as good as it gets, I guess! Thanks again. CRBR 16:41, 1 August 2007 (UTC)
-
-
- Yeah sorry that was my mistake. I should've said most recent song not single. Also, if there is going to be a message sent out with corrections, there are now 36 members instead of 34 as stated in the newsletter. I think because we were in such a hurry to get it done we didn't really bother to check it. Anyway, thanks for pointing that out. --Joelster 22:59, 1 August 2007 (UTC)

Newsletter Correction?
I can just do a find a replace, and correct the newsletter already on everyones' page. Should I do that? --(Review Me) R ParlateContribs@ (Let's Go Yankees!) 21:43, 2 August 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject U2 July 2007 Newsletter - Amnesty Link
Alsom posted to Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U2
- While I personally may agree with the aims on Amnesty International, I am unsure whether wikipedia is the place to solicit sales which benefit any particular cause. To me, it sounds like bias. It is my opinion that the phrase, "so please buy a copy" should be removed. The altruistic virtues will be apparent to readers interested in the cause. That is my 2cents. WikiProject Collaboration of the Fortnight
Hey, I was wondering, as I am working on the collaboration of the month, could I work on the collaboration of the month page please? Thank you very much for all of your hard work, and I hope that this will be of help to you! Sincerely, Neranei T/C 17:56, 3 August 2007 (UTC) Addendum: I've just compiled a list of the highest-importance U2 articles and their class with goals (i.e. start to B-class) and such. I can email it to you if you'd like, for approval, or just post it here.
Am I bugging ya? I don't mean to bug ya...
(Sorry, couldn't resist! :P) Cheers, Neranei T/C 18:17, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks very much, I don't think I need anyone right now, but I really hope that people will contribute; here is a list of the articles marked top-importance, their current class, and the desired class. Let me know what you think!
U2 (GA to FA)
Adam Clayton (start to GA)
Larry Mullen Jr. (start to GA)
The Edge (start to GA)
Bono (B to GA)
U2 discography (B to GA)
Achtung Baby (start to B)
The Joshua Tree (start to B)
Bad (song) (start to B)
Beautiful Day (start to B)
I Still Haven’t Found What I’m Looking For (start to B)
One (U2 song) (start to B)
Pride (In the Name of Love) (start to B)
Sunday Bloody Sunday (song) (GA to FA)
Where the Streets Have No Name (start to B)
Zoo TV Tour (B to GA)
Neranei T/C 20:55, 3 August 2007 (UTC) P.S. Is it going to be the collaboration of the month, week, or fortnight? Thanks!
-
- Is the list alright, and I just put the page up, please tell me if you would like anything changed. Thanks, Neranei T/C 21:17, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, I'll edit the tasks section and put up a notice about the Collaboration, and change it when necessary. If I'm away for some reason, I'll ask someone else to do it. Can you put a notice in the newsletter? Also, I'll make a notice about the Collaboration and pass it around to everyone, as I have AWB and can do that quickly. Do you need anything else? Thanks, Neranei T/C 21:25, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- The top one is improving U2 to FA status. Also, I put a quote at the top of the department page, is that alright? I will start work on the notices and delivering them now. How do you make something a template? Thanks, Neranei T/C 21:30, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- It will be a bit like an RfA, except less complicated. People will submit ideas, and I will put it up on the page with sections labeled "support", "oppose", etc. Then, if most people want it be worked on, I will add it to the list. Cheers, Neranei T/C 21:32, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- I was just going to make a template for notifying users about the Collaboration starting, and if they want to, notices every two weeks when the new collaboration begins. Neranei T/C 21:34, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Actually, I was thinking that keeping all Collaboration material on one page might make more sense. I don't quite understand, so would we open nominations 4 days before the Collaboration closes, or just close noms 2 days before a new one? Thanks, Neranei T/C 21:43, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Yeah, we should definitely put it in the news section, also, I think that, if I understood right, we open noms when the collaboration starts, close it 4 days before the new one starts (and start voting) and determine consensus when the new one starts, add it to the list, and put the nom updates in the news, much like the "features and admins" in the Signpost. Does that make sense? Neranei T/C 21:51, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I'll go have a look-see. Thanks!Neranei T/C 21:52, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

(unindent) Gotcha. I see now; only thing is, since there is already a list (see the one I gave you), should new noms be added to the end of the list, or should we chuck the list and just start a new list? Neranei T/C 21:54, 3 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, thanks! Here is the template I will give to people.
Neranei T/C 22:00, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

- I'll go and deliver it with AWB; I just changed the talk page to a nomination thingy, please feel free to make any changes. Also, should people still be able to contact me to do noms? Thanks, Neranei T/C 22:09, 3 August 2007 (UTC)

U2 Flag
Just wanted to let you know that I've replaced your U2 flag with a new SVG version. The version you uploaded was a really bad JPEG, this one looks quite a bit better.

How-to page
Thanks for doing that; it is excellent. I have delivered all of the notices; is there anything else that we need to do besides collaborating? Thanks for all of your help, you are doing a great job with the project! By the way, I like the new flag. Cheers, Neranei T/C 14:46, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- Do you need any help with the newsletter? If so, I'd be happy to help. I've not got too much to do. Hope everything is going well for you, please let me know if there is anything I can do to help with the project. Cheers, Neranei T/C 20:16, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
17th-30th August
A tag has been placed on 17th-30th August, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done for the following reason:
Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not meet very basic Wikipedia criteria may be deleted at any time. Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as an appropriate article, and if you can indicate why the subject of this article is appropriate, you may contest the tagging. To do this, add {{hangon}}
on the top of the page and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would confirm its subject's notability under the guidelines.
For guidelines on specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for bands, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.
Specifically, the article 17th-30th August was placed in the main encyclopedia rather than a subpage of Wikipedia talk:WikiProject U2. But it looked like it was supposed to be an archive of a discussion which hasn't taken place yet, so I didn't know where it should go. Metropolitan90 18:27, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
31st August-13th September
Same thing for 31st August-13th September as 17th-30th August. --Metropolitan90 18:31, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
Newsletter
I would be willing to do the Outreach department; perhaps I could write an ad for the September newsletter? I could also write a U2 news section on the main project page and update it if you'd like. Also, if you and Joel need help with the September issue, I am willing to help in any way. Thanks, Neranei T/C 22:06, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK, I can get started on the Outreach department right now, what, specifically, do you want? "Proper" U2 news does not come around all that often, but I have several good sources, due to the fact that I am waiting impatiently for album news... Anyways, I will definitely look at the other issues and see what news has come up so far this month and see what I can find for the September issue; I will update it as it comes. Is that alright? What format ,etc. do you want for the news? Neranei T/C 22:18, 4 August 2007 (UTC)
- I was thinking, maybe we could make one of those ads, and perhaps send "news flashes" to people who sign up for it. Just some thoughts. I'll go check out other Wikiprojects' Outreach departments, and see what they do. Neranei T/C 16:05, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK, sounds like it'll work. What do you think about the newsflashes? Also, I gave a welcome message thingy to our newest user, maybe the Outreach department could do that? (It was in French, as the user is Quebecoise, so I wrote it in French, but I can easily translate it for our new users.) Neranei T/C 16:10, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Whoops, forgot you were Irish. That's an American (ish) expression for a notice about a new item of news. I have an image for a U2 barnstar, I should probably make a better one. Neranei T/C 16:19, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Sure, how about one like that with the GA logo in the middle for the Collaboration department, and the plain one for all-around contribs? Any others? Neranei T/C 16:26, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- I am going to the library to check out books for the collaboration, but should be back in about an hour, if you're still around. I can create a barnstar subpage in the project, and work on the images, if you want, but it will be "In A Little While". :) Sorry, sometimes jokes like that are hard to resist! :) Neranei T/C 16:33, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Re: Barnstars
Usually, I draw the stars from scratch, but I assume some use a photoshop program. What colors do you need? User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 20:13, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Since you want a red and black strip, would it be something like this? If so, I can make a star, no problem. I notice you have one for GA's too. I make that one too easily. User:Zscout370 (Return Fire) 09:27, 7 August 2007 (UTC)
Thanks
Thanks so much. Wow, my first barnstar. --Joelster 21:51, 6 August 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject
Whoops, sorry about that. They are saved as templates. I'll go change the name right now.
- Actually, precedent is for just calling it the U2 Barnstar, like the Comics Barnstar or whatever. Also, changing the name would involve deleting/moving templates, which would be a pain in the butt. They are here. As they are the newest barnstars, they are at the bottom. Neranei T/C 19:24, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, you are very, very kind. Speaking of barnstars, I'm going to go put the links on the Outreach department. Neranei T/C 19:34, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK, thanks for making the subpage. Bad news from the collaboration front, there seems to be little effort from people on the article. I am taking notes on some sources to add info later, but unfortunately could not get my hands on "U2 by U2". Oh well. That is the ultimate primary source, U2-wise. I have given notices to people, but so far, no one has responded. Perhaps after the newsletter is sent in a few days, reponse will pick up. And, about giving a barnstar to Joelster, he definitely deserves it! Neranei T/C 19:42, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Excellent, thank you. I have read U2 by U2 (from the library), I just couldn't get it this time. Some of the early pictures are really funny! Should I update the news and such with the barnstars? Neranei T/C 19:47, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, you are very, very kind. Speaking of barnstars, I'm going to go put the links on the Outreach department. Neranei T/C 19:34, 6 August 2007 (UTC)
(unindent) Yeah, it is kind of hard to find out information about the whole band, perhaps doing one of the band members next time would get a better response. I am trying to record the article, it should be done in a couple of days. That may be enough to push it over the edge towards FA status, as it is a 3-time nominee. Neranei T/C 15:57, 7 August 2007 (UTC)

Collab
As of yesterday, there has been very little response. I am still working on the recording, but speaking the article aloud has helped me identify weird-sounding sentences and thus improve the article. I have not started on the ad; I have honestly no idea how to do it. Maybe we should ask someone how to do it? Brightest blessings, Neranei T/C 14:15, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- No, it's alright, I just stopped. My voice is shot right now, so we can discuss whatever now. Cheers, Neranei T/C 15:00, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, my idea for the ad is: It has an image with a picture of the band saying "Do you like U2?" then it changes to another image, like the barnstar, and says "Would you like to help with U2-related articles?" and then changes to "Then, join WikiProject U2 today!" or something of the sort. Also, I think we should standardize out welcome message to new members- I think I did a good French one on Vero444's page, and an ok English one on Mc Snowy's page. What do you think ? Do you have any new ideas? Neranei T/C 15:06, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
This is the English one.
This is the French one.
Neranei T/C 15:13, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, should I just make a subpage of my userpage? Neranei T/C 17:18, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it'd be easier if I just made a subpage like "WPU2welcomeen" and "WPU2welcomefr" or something like that, and members can translate them for people who join who have a non-English language as their primary language. Neranei T/C 17:22, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- True, it is the English Wikipedia, but it might make people who don't speak English well but who want to contribute feel more welcome to the project. We don't have to though, if you don't want to. Neranei T/C 17:27, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, well, I'll go make the subpage, and put in the stuff you said to. It will be at User:Neranei/WPU2welcome. Neranei T/C 17:33, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thank you very much. My other ideas are: the ad, and a "Song of the Week" feature (maybe), involving featuring one song a week, maybe just a box on the main page, or something of the sort, and my final idea is to have a "recording drive", where people record U2-related articles. If you want to know more about recorded articles, they are at WP:SPOKEN. I am currently recording U2, but I should be done in a couple of days. One more question: Who will do the FA nom if we decide that the article is ready? Should you and I co-nom? Neranei T/C 19:41, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, well, I'll go make the subpage, and put in the stuff you said to. It will be at User:Neranei/WPU2welcome. Neranei T/C 17:33, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- True, it is the English Wikipedia, but it might make people who don't speak English well but who want to contribute feel more welcome to the project. We don't have to though, if you don't want to. Neranei T/C 17:27, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

(unindent) I hope you find an adoptee, it can be really fun. So, should the assessment department decide on an article recording drive? Logical next question: Is there anyone in the department? Next question: Will they do the FA nom, or will it be anyone besides us involved in the COTF department? Thanks for putting Edge's B-day in the news, he's 46 now if you're wondering. www.atu2.com has some funny Edge-birthday stuff; do you ever use that site? I was thinking we could have like a box on the main page with a featured song every week, what do you think? It could be like a collab, or just a fun feature. What do you think? Neranei T/C 19:56, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- Well, it seems like you have an offer. If you need any help with adopting stuff, I've had an adoptee so I could help you if you need it. If they're both on wikibreak when the collaboration ends, then you and I should put up the FA nom, if it's ready. I think that most of the issues that came up in the last FA nom were addressed by Merbabu (who is awesome, by the way). That's really good! I like it. Hopefully, some people will see it... Perhaps the song thing could wait until the next collab starts? And, if no one nominates an article, or if no one votes, then I've got a back up list just in case, and the next one would be one of the band. Is that ok? Cheers, Neranei T/C 21:34, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
Welcome templates
I notice that you use the standard welcome template for greeting users, but I wanted to recommend (welcomeh), since it has more links to important areas in Wikipedia. Just a thought. Elenseel 23:05, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- No problem.

Usernames
Yes - it needs an admin to create requested accounts where the names are close to existing (but unused) accounts - see WP:ACC. ELIMINATORJR 23:43, 8 August 2007 (UTC)
- OK - If you see that happening, it's always worth checking WP:ACC, as often (as I just did) an admin will run through the backlog creating a lot of accounts in a few minutes. ELIMINATORJR 23:47, 8 August 2007 (UTC)

Wikiproject
Congrats on your adoptee! Ok, I think that we nominate it at WP:FAC, but I'm not sure how to do it. Bad news: I'm going on vacation from the 10th until the 12th, so can we do the FA nom on the 13th? Yeah, I was going to pick Adam because his and Larry's articles are the lowest rated, and in the worst shape. Thanks, Neranei T/C 14:20, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks, I appreciate it. I will be back before the next collab starts. About adminship, I will give you some quick feedback. You've done great work on the project, and people would definitely like that, but I'm a bit concerned about your mainspace edits. People may support you based on your project-space edits, but it may fail due to your low number of mainspace edits. If you still want to go for it, I will nominate you, but if you do not, I would recommend waiting a month or two and working in the mainspace a bit. I hope that is helpful, and if you still would like to go for it, I would be pleased to nominate you. Cheers, Neranei T/C 16:25, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- You're welcome, I just wouldn't want you to be hurt if it failed. You will be a great candidate in a couple of months, though, because you've done excellent work in the Wikiproject, and people will like that. Is there anything that I should take care of before I leave tomorrow? Neranei T/C 20:53, 9 August 2007 (UTC)
- Good, I'm glad everything's going well. What you may want to do is to ask if there's anything specific that they want to know. If not, help them learn the basic policies, about userpages, userboxes, stuff like that. Also, it may be a good idea to help them find a Wikiproject so that they can have some direction in their contribs. Hope that's helpful! Neranei T/C 21:00, 9 August 2007 (UTC)

adoption tasks
(also copied to Wikipedia talk:Adopt-a-User)
You needn't have any tasks for your adoptees. Some adopters have a rather structured approach to adopting, and some (including myself) do as you do and simply answer questions and offer advice. You should do whatever works best for you and your adoptees. --Sopoforic 01:38, 10 August 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject U2 August 2007 Newsletter
The U2 WikiProject Newsletter
Issue III - 12th August 2007 |

The Collaboration of the Fortnight Department has just been set up and is run by smithcool and neranei. If you have any questions or suggestions, or if you would like to nominate an article, go to the Collaboration of the Fortnight Talk Page.

Welcome to the August edition of the U2 WikiProject Newsletter. As you may have noticed, we are now doing themed newsletters. This one (if you haven't already guessed) is How To Dismantle An Atomic Bomb. Every month the newsletter will have a different theme. There will also be a special edition when the new album is released. Also thanks to Neranei for some of the U2 news.
We have two new members since the start of the month! They are Vero444 and MC. We now have 38 members!
More info from the album page here.
Last month's newsletter incorrectly stated that there were 34 members. This should've been 36. Also, under the "U2 News" section, line 3, instead of saying most recent single it should've said most recent song (this has since been corrected). The editors sincerely apologize for any misunderstandings this may have caused. The correct version of the July newsletter can be found here.
All members of the U2 Wikiproject please note that voting for the next collaboration of the fortnight starts on THE 12TH OF AUGUST. Please visit the collaboration department for more details. |

Adoption of Rezter
You offered adoption to me on my page and I'm not sure how this works but I would like to accept. (Rezter 20:21, 8 August 2007 (UTC))
Hi, I like your status thing. I would be more than greatful if you could show me how you made it or make me one, whichever is easier for you. Also, could you look at these two articles I have created and tell me what you think of them and/or was to improve them:
(Rezter 23:20, 8 August 2007 (UTC))
Erm, I think the status page would be best.
Also, I did look at other wikipedia pages when I made them two I was just wondering if you think they are good articles with good citation and layout and all that. (Rezter 23:43, 8 August 2007 (UTC))
Thank you for the status thing and thank you for looking at my articles. I personally don't like U2 so I'm not really interested in joining that project, but thanks for offering. What exactly is a WikiProject? (Rezter 14:24, 9 August 2007 (UTC))
No I haven't found a Wiki:Project like... in the traditional term but I do watch, edit and update the Slipknot (band) page religiously, along with a few other related pages. I have a question/idea, I generally don't know what constitutes a Good article and think that it would be a good learning curve for me to be able to get the Slipknot (band) article successfully accepted as one. So would you be able to look it over and give me a few suggestions? (Rezter 19:45, 11 August 2007 (UTC))
I did do that on the 4th of this month, the next day somebody made some suggestions and I made all the changes he asked for, I even left a message on his talk page saying I did but he never got back to me and no body else has looked at it. (Rezter 19:58, 11 August 2007 (UTC))
I didn't ask for it to be rated again because it is still on the candidates page: Wikipedia:Good article candidates#music. (Rezter 20:16, 11 August 2007 (UTC))
Hi, somebody reviewed the article Slipknot (band) and failed it as a good article, they have however left me with some suggestions on how to improve it, I was wondering if you could help me restructure this article to fit with their suggestions. (Rezter 12:42, 14 August 2007 (UTC))
I'd like to accept your offer for adoption you sent me a few days ago. Hesufo 16:35, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
WikiProject things...
Hello, I have found some U2 news that may be of interest for the next newsletter- The U23D movie may be delayed until 2008 (from atu2.com). And, about the collaboration, I have nominated the Adam article for the next collaboration. When the voting finishes, I will change the Community Portal notice to whatever the new article is. Do you think that U2 is ready for a FA nom? And, finally, I really like the latest newsletter. You guys did a great job! Please let me know if there's anything I can do for you for the next ones. Hope all is well! Cheers, Neranei talk 13:51, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- a butt in: U2's had 3 FA nom's. Each nomination was made without my knowledge when they weren't ready, but i defeneded each nom. Conflicting and confusing results. Each time it wasn't ready. I've put the article on the WP:LOCE and tried to get external copyeditors in. One problem it has had is young pop culture-orientated editors insistent on tedious and immature inclusion of minor facts (like listing each single, release date, and chart position). I spent a lot of time fixing up prose, sourcing quotes, and keeping out the idiotic. Any future FAC nom should get consensus of the regular editors on the talk page. Please don't canvass the 40-odd project members, most of whom rarely edited the article. I will try again to find good external copy editors. I don't mean kids who like bands. :) But proper writers. I don't know if you guys are familiar with FAC but please don't try and canvass for dozens of project members for 'support'. The FAC admins can see through that. If you want to talk about FAC, let's keep it off the project and article pages for the time being - stick to a few users, and let's be focussed about it.
- As for the assessment, it's still going, but I have every U2 article on my watch list and none have - in my opinion - changed their quality dramatically since i assessed them all. But please let me know if you disagree. Oh, and Adam Clayton is a good collab nomimation. --Merbabu 14:03, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I wasn't aware of that, thanks Merbabu! I agree, U2 is not ready yet. I am willing to go over it and copyedit; it is a bit wonky. And I think that Adam Clayton may be the only nomination...it is not in very good shape! Neranei talk 16:47, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. If you don't mind, I am putting album facts in the October edition if the newsletter, and perhaps some later editions, please change them if you don't like them. Neranei talk 19:56, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ok, I will inform him. I was thinking, do you want a signature? I could make one for you! Neranei talk 22:21, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- I just made you a signature, it is the Vertigo tour colors. Here is the code, you simply have to paste it into the signature box in your preferences, and them click the "Raw signature" box.

'''<font color="E32636">[[User:Smithcool|Smith]]</font><font color="000000">[[User talk:Smithcool|cool]]</font>'''
It comes out to this: Smithcool Hope you like it! Love, Neranei talk 22:29, 13 August 2007 (UTC)
- You're very welcome. If you get a chance, would you take a look at the newsletters and see if what I've been doing is OK? Thanks, Neranei talk 13:45, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
Newsletters etc.
Thanks, do you mind if I do the last few? I could also make a "happy WP anniversary" edition. By the way, there was a bit of code missing from your signature, just add 3 apostrophes like ''' to either end of your signature in your preferences. I like the way it looks! Do you like it? Neranei talk 14:54, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Thanks. I have finished adding the album info, do you want me to put bylines for you and Joelster at the bottom of each, and just add whomever else contributes as they do? Neranei talk 17:42, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- The little "This issue written by..." thig at the bottom, and I put the notice up that the noms are finished (Adam is the only one) and that voting starts tomorrow. If anyone votes besides us, I will be amazed...so it looks like the next collab is Adam. Neranei (talk) 20:14, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- Oh, you're sure you don't want me to put at least you and Joelster up? It'd be no problem. Neranei (talk) 22:22, 14 August 2007 (UTC)
- P.S.- I am willing to set up a portal, and am working on it in my sandbox- you can take a look if you want. Thanks, Neranei (talk) 02:41, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- I hope you have a good break, and come back refreshed! While you're gone, I'll be working on the Portal. Depending on how long you're gone, it may be done before you get back. It should be done in a couple of days. I will also run the Collab change-over, it will be Adam. Hope all is well! Neranei (talk) 17:11, 15 August 2007 (UTC)

Rezter
Hi Smithcool, I note you adopted Rezter (talk · contribs). I've been attempting to outline to Rezter that an edit s/he recently made to Sid Wilson which references an unknown / little known artist called "Izzy Dunfore" is not suitable for Wikipedia. The notability of this artist is unclear, and the reference is sourced to Izzy Dunfore's Myspace page. Rezter has so far added this unsourced / insignificant factoid 3 times, and has apparently ignored my attempts to outline the relevant policies and guidelines that govern edits such as these. Do you think you could outline to him the problem with the edit, and the importance of communicating with other users, especially experienced ones who are perhaps more knowledeable about policies and guidelines? Can only be beneficial for his development as a Wikipedian. Thanks! Deiz talk 10:41, 15 August 2007 (UTC)
- Ignore him he blew it a bit out of proportion I realised I was in the wrong for posting the Myspace link as a source I then replace it with another source, but it turns out I shouldn't have eddited at all because apparently it's not worthy information. (Rezter 13:27, 15 August 2007 (UTC))

- I didn't meen ignore what you are saying about my information not being correct, I just thought you took it a bit too far you could have just said something to me, I'm not stupid. (Rezter 18:48, 15 August 2007 (UTC))

- I didn't revert again, I changed the source. You probably didn't even notice I changed it until I told you I did. Even though at the end of it, my information was unworthy is besides the point. (Rezter 11:28, 16 August 2007 (UTC))

Portal
Hi Smithcool. I run half the Indonesia portal - it's a featured portal. I have some good ideas on how to run U2. Maybe I will have a look this weekend. --Merbabu 15:12, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
- PS, i got Indonesia to feature status and it is on the main page today (17 August). cheers/ --Merbabu 15:13, 16 August 2007 (UTC)
Real Madrid Wiki Project
Hi it would be good to try and get some links between the RM Wikiproject and WP:Football - what do you think? Paulbrock 17:31, 19 August 2007 (UTC)
Re:
Hello, I'm glad you're back! I was just thinking about you, how was your wikibreak? I was just going to update the new shiny U2 portal! If you haven't checked the U2 news lately, you didn't miss too much. Pretty much all that's happened is PopMart will be released soon (YAY! Now if I can only get my hands on a copy...), Music Rising is doing well, and Lanois is doing some film stuff. If you want me to put that in the newsletter, I can, but it may or may not go in the portal. Take a look, I don't think it's bad! (Oh, and the red links are supposed to be that way, the blue was really painful.) Please tell me if you need anything! Cheers, Neranei (talk) 21:07, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
- I don't think that any of the news is pressing enough for the newsletter, but it will be going onto the portal soon. Well, maybe you'll get PopMart for Christmas, I saw an early review on atu2.com and it's supposed to be really good. Anyways, hope all is well! Cheers, Neranei (talk) 21:13, 26 August 2007 (UTC)
