Smithy Bridge railway station serves the village of Smithy Bridge near Rochdale in Greater Manchester, England. The station is on the Caldervale Line 20 km (12¾ miles) north of Manchester Victoria on the way to Leeds.

Monday to Saturday daytimes there is a half-hourly service to Manchester Victoria southbound and to Leeds northbound.
Evenings and Sundays there is an hourly service in each direction.
[edit] Future plans from December 2008
Northern Rail have proposed changes to the Caldervale line services from December 2008. Three trains per hour will run between Leeds and Manchester Victoria - one will be the current stopping service, one will go via Dewsbury and Brighouse, and include stops at Moston, Mills Hill and Castleton, and one will be a limited stop service - between Bradford and Manchester the service will only call at Halifax, Hebden Bridge, Todmorden and Rochdale. 1915: The station was the scene of a tragic accident involving an express train and an empty stock train. Four people died and many others were injured.
