"Smile" is a the debut single by Vitamin C released in 1999. It became Vitamin C's highest charting single to date, peaking at #7 on the Hot Singles Sales Chart, #21 on the Top 40 Mainstream and #18 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming her only single to reach the Top 20 and her first single to reach the Top 40. It was used in a Hershey's commercial throughout 2000 and 2002. It was recently used in a commercial for Tide.
The single went Gold, as certified by the RIAA for sales in excess of 500,000. The song became her 1st hit off her platinum-selling debut album.
Although billed as a Vitamin C single, the song is actually a duet, with Fitzpatrick alternating riffs with Lady Saw (born Marion Hall), a Jamaican reggae singer, known as "the first Lady of Dancehall".
