This is a copyrighted image that has been released by a company or organization to promote their work or product in the media, such as advertising material or a promotional photo in a press kit. Although this image is subject to U.S. copyright laws, I believe that this image is covered by fair use laws for the English Wikipedia article Degrassi: The Next Generation because all ten Non-Free criteria are met:

• No free equivalent is available or could be created that would adequately give the same information.
• The image is not used in a manner that would likely replace the original market role of the original copyrighted media.
• It does not harm or limit the copyright owners rights to sell the TV show in any way.
• It is a low resolution image
• The image has been previously published on the internet and elsewhere.
• The image is used in at least one article, and not in userspace
• It is used here for purely encyclopaedic and informational purposes.
• it allows for clear identification of the show;
• it illustrates the show in question and aids commentary on the plot outline.
• no free image is available to identify the subject because the image is taken within the studios of the makers of D:TNG, which is closed to public.
• It is accompanied by commentary
• It contributes significantly by showing this specific image to the details of the article.
• It contributes significantly by showing this specific image to the identification of characters, places, etc.
• The promotional image shows Kevin Smith, Jason Mewes and Alanis Morrisette in character, and therefore cannot be replaced by a free-licensed image, as they would not appear in character at any other time. Furthermore, the image is taken in front of Degrassi Community School, a building on a closed set used for filming. As it is a closed set, no free license image can be used.
