M is a mysterious jazz vocalist best known for the performance of the song Butterfly, composed by Yoko Kanno and lyricized by Chris Mosdell for Cowboy Bebop.

Composer, vocalist, multi-faceted performance artist – M has contributed to the video/sonic art world for years with brilliantly produced works of multidisciplinary art and ingenious presentation.

She has most recently completed work on a theatrical concert entitled: “Madwoman: A Contemporary Opera”

In 2004, M was requested by National Geographic Magazine to have a portrait made of her by renowned photojournalist Robert Clark. This portrait would be included in an explosive article on genetic inheritance. Her work as a performance artist was highlighted in relation to the article as it directly expresses ideas of diversity and acceptance of difference. Later that same year, M's portrait and artistic work became a featured part of a collection of images deemed by National Geographic Magazine as "Best of The Year".

Another portrait of her travels internationally with the Positive Exposure Foundation’s “Images of Albinism” collection which was launched at the Smithsonian Institute during the Mapping of the Human Genome Celebration in 2000.
