[edit] Adoption Offer
Hello, Smaug123. I saw that you wanted to be adopted. I would be pleased to adopt you and show you the basics of editing Wikipedia. If you want to become my adoptee, please do not hesitate in leaving me a message on my talk page. Happy editing! Yours sincerely, Eddie 18:10, 17 June 2007 (UTC)

on your talk page and someone will show up shortly to answer your questions. Again, welcome and congratulations!
Hello. Thank you for accepting my offer. Just so you know, I'll be teaching you basic editing, how to improve an article, fighting vandalism, how to use images, deletion of articles and other content, participating in RfA discussions, creating a cool userpage, creating a cool signature, and more. I'll be teaching you these things at User:Smaug123/Adoption. When it's a blue link, click it to see your first lesson. Happy editing! Yours sincerely, Eddie 14:19, 18 June 2007 (UTC)
- Hello. Please follow the following link to find your first lesson. When you finish it, please leave me a message on my talk page in order to continue to the next lesson. Good luck! Yours sincerely, Eddie 23:28, 18 June 2007 (UTC)

- Good job! I only have one small correction. On number 3, you put: "User:Smaug123 This is my userpage." What I wanted to see was: "This is my userpage," which in wiki markup is written as [[User:Smaug123|This is my userpage]]. Other than that, excellent job! I was going to give you article writing as lesson 2, but I am going on vacation tomorrow until Monday, so I'm going to give you how to fight vandalism as lesson 2 and I'll give you the articles lesson when I get back. Happy editing! Yours sincerely, Eddie 16:26, 19 June 2007 (UTC)
- P.S. I'll let you know when I finish lesson 2. Also, please remember to sign your messages on talk pages with ~~~~.

- Hello. Lesson 2 is now ready. Try fighting vandalism and reading the information I provided, and, when I come back from my vacation, I'll evaluate your contributions and, if you're ready, I'll give you lesson 3. Be sure to carefully read all of the information provided, as fighting vandalism is a delicate art. Happy editing! Yours sincerely, Eddie 20:19, 19 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Warning of OxRoryxo
Hi Smaug, I just wanted to congratulate you on your excellent job of warning this user. While you did all the right things, you posted the warning on the users actual user page, when you should in fact post it on the user's talk page. I have moved it, but I have sent this message just to let you know. Otherwise, you seem to be doing really well. Good luck, and keep the good work up! -- Anonymous DissidentTalk -- (dated 10:47, 19 June 2007 UTC)
- No worries. Your hard work is appreciated, even if you made a small mistake. -- Anonymous DissidentTalk -- (dated 10:53, 19 June 2007 UTC)
- My pleasure. Its a sure sign that you are doing some quality vandal-fighting when things like that happen! -- Anonymous DissidentTalk -- (dated 12:27, 19 June 2007 UTC)
[edit] Signing
I hope not to seem overulling or seeming to tell you what to do, but you may want to remember to sign your posts on talk pages. It is as simple as simply typing four tildes, just like this: ~~~~ and it allows people to know that it was you who left a certain comment. Just a little piece of advice. Have a nice day! (PS: I sent you this because you have done it twice on my talk -- if it was simply a two-time off situation, please accept my apologies). Regards, -- Anonymous DissidentTalk -- (dated 12:37, 19 June 2007 UTC)
- No worries. You seem to have got the hang of it now! -- Anonymous DissidentTalk -- (dated 07:09, 21 June 2007 UTC)
[edit] RE:Question from an adoptee
Hello, Smaug. No question is silly here! You are doing a great job! Just keep doing what you're doing and I'll post lesson 3 tomorrow. Happy editing! Yours sincerely, Eddie 23:10, 26 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Washita
I am the author of a book on the Battle of the Washita and the owner of a website http://www.custerwest.org dedicated to the study of the Battle with books and historians welcomed as members. I was working on the article of the Battle of the Washita with footnotes and original sources when HanzoHattori erased my whole work with a single website and things full of nonsense, like putting the Washita campaign against the Cheyenne in the "Commanche campaign". Read my website if you want to have primary source. And let me work correctly on this page with footnotes by books and original quotes. It's an encyclopedia, right? [edit] Lesson 3
Hello. Lesson 3 is now ready. I'm already working on the next lesson. Enjoy! Yours sincerely, Eddie 21:57, 28 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Poteet High School (Mesquite, Texas)
I reverted to the proper edit. I have a feeling that PiratePrincess is trying to put non-notable friends into the article. WhisperToMe 06:52, 29 June 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Adoption barnstar
Hello - is there any particular reason why you've created/added an adoption barnstar when the Project already has {{Adopt-a-User Barnstar}}, as discussed and agreed here? It's on the bottom of the main WP:AAU page too, in case you missed it. Or have I missed some discussion elsewhere? Yours, Bencherlite 09:48, 30 June 2007 (UTC)
- Well, probably best if you did, as the previous one's a bit more specific in its design for AAU. Do you think it would be a good idea to put the previous barnstar in where you put yours, so it's more obvious? If so, go ahead and do that. But good thinking to make one, though! Hope you keep going here at Wikipedia - you seem to be doing very well so far (says he, admiring the Award you've been given since last time I was here!) Bencherlite 16:18, 30 June 2007 (UTC)

[edit] WP:CVU status
The Wikipedia:Counter-Vandalism Unit project is under consideration to be moved to {{inactive}} and/or {{historical}} status. Another proposal is to delete or redirect the project. You have been identified as a project member and your input as to this matter would be welcomed at WT:CVU#Inactive.3F and at the deletion debate. Thank you!
