This user, real name James, had been making occasional edits to correct grammatical and spelling errors for quite some time before getting round to registering his account. This was primarily due to finding himself using the site more regularly and having growing confidence in the worthiness of the changes he had been making.
[edit] Editing experience
In 2007, SmartShark came across an article for the Südschleife (an old, disused section of the famous Nürburgring motor racing circuit) which he noted had been copied almost word-for-word from a website he knew of. After confirming with the owner of that site that permission had not been given for his copy to be published on Wikipedia, SmartShark deleted it and re-wrote the article from scratch in his own words. As of June 2008, nobody has made any significant edits to this article, which he chooses to see as confirmation that he did a good job.
[edit] Personal Information
SmartShark is from the UK but has travelled widely around the world. Neither his mother nor wife are British so he has plenty of access to viewpoints from other countries and cultures. His wife is a native speaker of Spanish and so it might be possible to get translations done if you ask nicely.
When filling in surveys, he ticks the "over 25" age box. Spare time is often taken up with housework but playing driving simulation games and watching a variety of sport also rank highly on the pleasure-ometer.
