Smarty Jones Stakes

The Smarty Jones Stakes is an American Thoroughbred ungraded stakes horse race held at Oaklawn Park in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The Smarty Jones is for three-year-olds set at a distance of one mile (8 furlongs). The purse for the 2008 edition of this event is $50,000.
Named for the 2004 Kentucky Derby and Preakness winner, Smarty Jones, the inaugural race was held on January 21, 2008. [1]
