SmartWater

For the product produced by Glacéau called SmartWater, see: Glacéau.
SmartWater is an anti-criminal sprinkler system that sprays a burglar with an invisible fluid, which can then be detected and analysed by Police to secure a conviction. The special fluid is indelible and also contains a unique code that correlates the assailant to a specific location.[1]
In summer 2006, Humberside Police identified houses with high-risk items and marked residents' valuables with SmartWater free of charge. A separate bottle of fluid was used for each resident, allowing the owner to be tracked from the unique code.[citation needed]
SmartWater in most cases is not a valid proof in court, because an owner of a personified solution can easily administer it to other people's valuable items.[citation needed]
