SMA Negeri 3 Bandung (also known as SMU 3 Bandung or SMA 3 Bandung) is a public high school located at Belitung street in Bandung, Indonesia. It shares the same building with SMA Negeri 5 Bandung, gives the schools with the nickname SMA Belitung after the street name.
The school gains its credibility for the academic achievements, which most of its graduates enrolled in Indonesia's top universities, such as Institut Teknologi Bandung.[1] The school also regarded as one of the top high schools in Indonesia, especially in the West Java Province.

SMA Negeri 3 Bandung was established in 1953, occupying former Dutch colonial school building. [2]The building, 8.220 square meters on the 14.240 square metres area, was designed by C.P. Wolff Schoemaker and was built in 1916. [3] The building was used together by three different school until SMA Negeri 2 Bandung decided to occupy new campus building in Jalan Cihampelas in 1966. [4] SMA 3 has been using the eastern part of the building since then, leaving the rest to be used by SMA 5.

Currently, the school is divided into 10 classes every batch, with majority of the students prefer majoring on science to social science. Gifted student with excellent academic achievement has option to join the accelerated program,[5], where they can complete three years high school program in only two-years time.

Student is free to choose extra curricular activity from large selection of club. The most prominent and popular clubs are Moslem Society Council, Angklung Ensemble Society (Indonesian musical instruments), Classical Music Club, and Debating Club. The Angklung Ensemble Society (in Indonesian: "Keluarga Paduan Angklung" or KPA) often been invited to various music festival in Indonesia and also oversea, including "Expanding Sound of Angklung" festival in 2004, where the member were involved in tour-like concert in several european country (Germany, Belgium, and France).
