Small fruits comprise a diverse group of plants producing small, pulpy, edible, round shaped fruit. These are commonly known as "berries", regardless of their underlying botanical structure. They include strawberries (Fragaria), raspberries and blackberries (Rubus spp.), blueberries and cranberries (Vaccinium spp.), redcurrants, blackcurrants and gooseberries (Ribes spp.) and elderberries (Sambucus spp.).
