[edit] AACS and BD+

SlySoft was the first to offer AACS circumvention that worked for any disc available; previous programs only cracked "compatible" discs using a database of known keys. On November 8, 2007, SlySoft claimed to have completely cracked BD+ (previously said to be unbreakable for "at least 10 years") [1]. However, this was not entirely accurate. The crack allowed a user to copy a BD to the harddrive and play it back from there using only a specific version of Cyberlink's PowerDVD, but not to transcode, otherwise manipulate the content or play it back from a burned BD-R or BD-RE. On March 19, 2008, SlySoft released version 6.4.0.0 of AnyDVD HD which completely removes BD+ from Blu-ray Discs.[2]
