The sole musical output of The Flesh Volcano, released in 1987, Slut sees Marc Almond and Clint Ruin creating uneasy industrial-cum-cabaret tracks. The former The Immaculate Consumptive bandmates' 12" EP features Almond's vocal work over Ruin's queasy soundscapes. The EP was released by Some Bizzare Records, then home to both Almond's and Ruin's solo projects.

[edit] Reissues

A number of confusingly-named compact disc reissues of Slut were released in the mid-1990s, bulked up to album-length with numerous bonus tracks. All reissues dropped the Flesh Volcano artist name and were instead credited to "Marc Almond & Foetus."

In 1997, the Slut EP appeared on two different CDs reissued by Some Bizarre[1]. The first, Violent Silence•Flesh Volcano, appended the Marc Almond solo record Violent Silence. However, it was almost immediately recalled and a different CD, Flesh Volcano•Slut, took its place, adding additional Almond/Ruin collaborations in place of the Almond solo work. This second version was also released by Thirsty Ear, simply titled Slut, in February 1998.
