[edit] bin Laden
When referring to bin Laden as an anti-Soviet resistance fighter in Afghanistan, you might want to refer to him his Saudi background. 172 07:56, 28 May 2004 (UTC)
[edit] National Park disambig
G'day Chris
In Talk:National Park you say you had consensus from #Wikipedia. Where was this discussion? I'm considering reverting this back to a disambiguation page, see my comments on the talk page, but I want to know the full background first. {There's no need for you to get involved again, you tried.) Andrewa 18:07, 31 May 2004 (UTC)
- Well, I asked in the channel, and several people agreed that it shouldn't redirect to National Park, New Jersey. For example:
- [23:01] <Cyrius> yeah, that should be a disambiguation
- [23:01] <Cyrius> I doubt anyone who types it in is going to be looking for a town of 3000 in New Jersey
- It wasn't exactly a full channel discussion, especially since most of the channel was away (this was 11 P.M. Pacific). Well, good luck to you. I'll keep watching; I kind of gave up because I didn't really want to get involved in a big dispute over a page that probably doesn't get that many hits. -- Slowking Man 02:32, Jun 1, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Greudin as admin
You look so candid, I forgot the bad words what I ll doing to say, peace. Greudin 01:39, 15 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- I have nothing against you personally. However, I find a self-nomination at a little over 300 edits as rather premature. Also, it would probably be advantageous for you to improve your understanding of English a bit before becoming an admin, to prevent communication problems. In other words, maybe later--Slowking Man 01:48, Aug 15, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Anarcho
I know the infamous anarchist Anarcho still alive because i work with him, i am his son. People say he is dead, so i just let them believe that, my father doesn't need publicity in Mexico or Cuba right now. If people think he is dead, then i let them think that. El Coronado 8:30, 21 August 2004
[edit] adminship
Dear User:Slowking Man,
Yes, I will treat the "keys to the mop closet" well. :-) Thank you very much for your vote in support of my nomination for adminship.

- Any time. :) --Slowking Man 06:26, Aug 24, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Adminship
Thank-you very much for your support of my nomination. Unfortunately, upon looking at my contibutions list, I realized that a mistake was made, and my number of contributions is actually 1,492 rather than 1,906. If you feel that you need to adjust your vote accordingly, I understand completely. Thanks for your time and support! -[[User:Frazzydee|Frazzydee|✍]] 23:07, 29 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- The amount of edits that a user has is far from my first criterion for adminship. --Slowking Man 23:51, Aug 29, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] User space
Heh, thanks. I just got confused as to what I was editing. --James Schultz 08:41, 30 Aug 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Railway station pages
Please don't move them - at least without discussion. We've set them up following a standard format right across the country, and I for one would appreciate if they stayed that way. Ambi 08:55, 31 Aug 2004 (UTC)
- Ooh, my mistake. I wasn't aware that there was a format for station pages. My apologies. --Slowking Man 08:57, Aug 31, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] UK Radio Stations
I do agree that the stubs at the moment are of only minimal use, and intend to expand them in due course. One of my main aims first of all, however, is to unify the mess of naming of stations that currently exists (eg pages for the single station referred to as 'BRMB', 'BRMB FM', '96.4 FM BRMB', or 'The New 96.4 FM BRMB' etc) by creating pages for each according to their 'official' title, and adding redirects. My hope is that they'll act as a springboard, and users will expand them themselves according to their local knowledge of each, whilst in the meantime providing a useful template with the essential details. [edit] White supremacy
You sent me a message, and I don't know how to answer except to put it hear for now.
The publisher of Swift Boat Veterans for Truth is a White Supremacist. Have you looked at the link I posted? Why do you say it is not credible? William Regnery puts out that White Supremacist magazine, and he is also trying to start a White Supremacist online dating service. Research it before you say it's wrong. That s an important bit of info about him. He is proud of it, why do you choose to keep it from the public? Are you politically biased? Why bar me for putting real info that is backed up by a link? I think people that buy his books should know that they are spending their money and supporting a white supremacist, because where you spend your money is what you are voting for. And if a person is against White Supremacy than they should not buy his books. (12.223.90.78, unsigned)
- Perhaps "unsupported" was the wrong word, and I apologize. However, your edits to Regnery Publishing, although apparently backed up by evidence, were nevertheless against the neutral point of view policy. Writing things like "source: HIS OWN WORDS" [1] smacks of an accusatory tone. Also, the large list of points that you dumped into the article had nothing to do with the subject. If you wish to add this information to the article, do so in an unbiased way, and don't put unrelated information in--simply state that he is a self-proclaimed white supremacist, and provide a link to his acknowledgement of this. As far as your other edits, however, most of them are blatant vandalism, such as inserting "George Motherfucking Bush" [2] and "Term of office: January 20, 2001-2005" [3] into George W. Bush repeatedly and in defiance of Grunt's reverts. Also, your pattern of edits suggests an attempt to insert immature and extremely leftist biases into Wikipedia's content.

[edit] Support
Thank you very much, my zhdtr, for your support during my recent run for adminship. You are a very good zhdtr and I will follow in your footsteps accordingly. Mike H 03:39, Sep 7, 2004 (UTC)

Thank you for requesting clean up on european National Socialism, I have tidied it up a bit, but it is a long job, what dont you understand, might help me improve it? user faedra cant sign got keyboard problem...

[edit] Wrong address
Hi Slowking Man, you left me a message on my talk page but I'm afraid you must have mistaken me for someone else... Thanks anyway. -217.132.35.172 12:40, 8 Sep 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Welcoming Committee Question
I was attempting to do a query search for new members but got totally lost. I figured since you were a welcoming committee member, you probably had an idea how to do a query search. Care to fill me in here? I've been playing around trying to figure it out for the past hour. Please respond on my talk page (just in case I forget I left you this message here :-) --ScottyBoy900Q∞ 21:11, Sep 9, 2004 (UTC)
- Ah, I see. I was inquiring because I was wanting to do some "welcoming" in my spare time. I guess I'll leave it up to sysops on the welcoming committee though. --ScottyBoy900Q∞ 23:09, Sep 9, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] program claims
Hello,
First, the text from FFII that I used when I did the "Program Claims" page is released under GNU Free Documentation License (http://www.gnu.org/licenses/fdl.html). I think it is ok to put such texts on the wikipedia. Is it not?
Second, the program claim examples I posted are from real patents and you are of course allowed to publish those (that's what the patent deal is about).
Can you put the text back online?
Thanks.

[edit] Transition of VfD to new day
You'll be interested in my edit summarized
- Clean up after previous attempt at new-day X'n to September 17 (11th & 12th to /Old)
at least to this extent: you went wrong on the date because you live west of Greenwich (on the way to the Int'l Date Line); the ideal person for this task is a Londoner, except they tend to be in bed. [wink]
Next most likely to interest you: your heading ended up above several new Sep-16 nominations, probably because you didn't refresh your copy of VfD at midnight UTC.
The rest of what i edited is most efficiently done by the person who puts in the new heading, but it eventually gets done in any case. (Usually, only one day's worth goes to /Old, but i guess that move got omitted the previous day (or sometime recently, with no one catching the fact & correcting for it). I try to remember to check for that: count the non-italic days' links, allow one just-begun day and 5 full days, and any additional ones go to /Old.)
And thanks for your willingness to involve yourself at all in this task.
--Jerzy(t) 03:25, 2004 Sep 17 (UTC)
- I apologize. I think I'll just leave the task to those who know more than I do. --Slowking Man 04:41, Sep 17, 2004 (UTC)
Sorry, i opened a diff window to see what turns out to be this response, & then buried it under other windows for hours.
No apology is called for, nor should be offered, nor would i consider accepting one. You done good, editing boldly, and got one of the rewards of doing so, an opportunity to learn about a couple of quirks of the server design and world-wide time-recording, if and only if that learning fits into the time- and attention-budget that you have for this area of WP. I apologize, if i made it appear that you owed either an apology, or more attention than you want to give the matter. Thanks again!

[edit] Innocence Project
Hey, looks like i just can't leave you alone! In this case, great job catching the duplication between titles and doing the right thing about it.
(I handled the wrongly named article, and i guess it shows how long i stayed clueless, that i didn't catch it then!)
If you spot other situations like this, you'll (at least eventually) want to think about getting an admin to merge the histories, complementing your merger of the texts. I've done that in this case; Talk:Innocence Project and its history tells much of the story, and i'll be glad to answer questions if you're interested.
--Jerzy(t) 07:24, 2004 Sep 17 (UTC)
- Heh, no problem. Thanks for taking care of the histories. --Slowking Man 07:26, Sep 17, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] The 350 Challenge
I don't know why you deleted the 350 challenge. Its real and not copyrighted. The link to it is http://www.personal.psu.edu/users/k/k/kkb126/350.htm When you get old enough to go to college you'll realize why stuff like this is important. (Unsigned, by Special:Contributions/66.71.29.65)
- First of all, I can't delete anything; I'm not an administrator. I simply marked it for deletion. Secondly, that wasn't the issue. The article was a messy infodump about some random college eating contest that is relevant to maybe 50 people (and that's a generous estimate). --Slowking Man 06:16, Sep 27, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Opss
My bad I got that photo from a differnt source I guess they stole it from them thank you for finding that -Kyle
- Not a problem. :) If you wish, list it at Wikipedia:Images for deletion. And get out there and take your own picture! We'd love to have a usable one. --Slowking Man 08:06, Oct 4, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] The Gaming Collaboration of the week
Hey there Slowking Man! I just wanted to drop you a message to inform you of the new Gaming Collaboration of the week that I've just set up. Gaming Collaboration of the week aims to improve the quality of Wikipedia's computer and video game articles through widespread cooperative editing, similar to the more generic Collaboration of the week. If you're interested, please stop by the page or its talk page. It would also be appriciated if you spread the word about Gaming Collaboration of the week's existence--I'm sure there are plenty of Wikipedians that would be glad to help out. Anyways, I look forward to collaborating with you to make a better Wikipedia. --pie4all88 22:54, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Continuum to FAC?
Hey, thanks for telling me about the gaming CotW! What do you think about making SubSpace a featured article candidate? I'm not sure if the article would make it to featured status, but at least we would get some ideas how we can improve the article, Wikipedia:Peer review didn't worked that well in that regards. --Conti|✉ 20:42, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)
- I think that would be a great idea. I've been thinking about doing so, but haven't really taken any action. If you want to, go ahead. Just let me know so that I can vote for it. ;)--Slowking Man 20:44, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)

- I was thinking about giving you the honor to nominate the article, as you did the most work for the article (and as I'm somewhat busy at the moment ;) ). Otherwise I can nominate it when I find the time to do it, maybe tomorrow. --Conti|✉ 21:04, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)
- Well, if you insist, I'll go ahead and nominate it. --Slowking Man 21:05, Oct 6, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] Vfd finds
Thanks for the encouragement; it's very dull stuff, and I won't be doing it often: but if everybody did it once a year, it'd be much cleaner. --Bill 21:19, 6 Oct 2004 (UTC)
[edit] My comments on your RFA
I was a little long-winded, but I hope you won't take offense. Key to the admin position is being a good judge of article value and making the best decision for the project. Spending so much time patrolling Recent changes and VFD can make one very jaded. I encourage you to spend time doing some back-to-basics article editing (the Gaming COTW is a good one). You'll find that experience is a balancing one. -- Netoholic @ 16:29, 2004 Oct 7 (UTC)
- I certainly take no offense. You're probably right in that I need to dedicate myself to bigger projects. I am planning to write an actual article for Moreno Valley, California once I track down a certain history book regarding the city. I have a few other ideas floating around in my head, too (as well as articles that will be coming up on the Gaming COTW, as you mentioned). I've dabbed a little into World War II articles as well, but perhaps I could do more. I can assure you that patrolling RC hasn't made me jaded. --Slowking Man 23:41, Oct 7, 2004 (UTC)

[edit] River Thame not River Thames
Hi, just to let you know that the River Thame is not (though is often confused with) the River Thames. I was getting around to creating it as an article so I guess your redirect forced me into it! -- Graham ☺ | Talk 21:54, 8 Oct 2004 (UTC)
- Great. Some anon created it with nonsense, and I assumed it to be a misspelling, so I redirected it. Perhaps I'll add a note to the article stating that the two rivers are different (except that you already did so, I see). --Slowking Man 22:43, Oct 8, 2004 (UTC)

Does it take awhile to take effect? I blocked 24.250.217.87 indefinitely, but edits of his have been showing up afterwards. Postdlf 01:48, 13 Oct 2004 (UTC)

- To answer his question: it should take effect immediately - I believe that's a bug in the code that Kate mentioned. But on a more relevant note: I am sure that you will do a great job as an admin, much as you have done on the IRC channel and throughout your WikiCareer! Congrats on becoming an admin – 36-1 is about as unanimous as you'll get on RFA nowadays :-P. Regards, ugen64 02:01, Oct 13, 2004 (UTC)

this is a scool, about 1000 people use these ip's evry day, i dont know who is vandalizing wikipedia but it is not me, one idea would be to ban the ip's that are being used by this school because we have www.ne.se as an alternative source of information and that means that wikipedia is not needed by this school..
well. do as you please

[edit] Thanks for your comments
Hey Snowking Man, How you doing? As you know I'm being nominated for adminship and I saw your comment in the neutral votes. I want to thank you because you expresed youself in a way that didn't make me feel bad. Yes it's true, in the beinging I did have some conflicts but, it was due to the fact that I didn't anything about anything about Wikipedias policies. However, I always did settled the disputes {Usually with me accepting that I was wrong and apologizing) and they became a learning experience for me. I want to tell you something and I don't want you to think that I'm trying to influence your vote in anyway because I know that I'm not going make it anyway. I think that it's great that such a young person as yoursfelf as taken an interest in this project and I commend you for that. Take care and God bless you, your friend in Wikipedia.
[edit] Hey Buddy
I saw in your mini-bio that your a christian, good! I want you to check out an article that I wrote which I consider very inspirational. The article is Nicky Cruz. Tell me what you think, O.K?

[edit] Pictures
Hey there, thanks for providing a small welcome note and making Wikipedia a slightly less faceless place.
I was wondering what the rules are for uploading pictures, namely with regards to purpose, more namely with regards to uploading pictures for personal pages. I've read through the Image use policy, and it doesn't seem to have anything on it. I notice you've got a picture on yours, so I assume you're allowed to upload a picture for use there. Is this correct?
Cheers.
Akchizar 05:37, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- You're welcome to upload pictures for your User page or subpages. Basically, if some sort of link between a picture and anything on Wikipedia can be established, you're free to upload it (assuming it complies with the GFDL). However, if you have images to upload for articles, consider uploading them to the Commons instead of the local English Wikipedia so that other projects can use them. --Slowking Man 06:08, Nov 11, 2004 (UTC)
- OK, cheers. Akchizar 06:31, 11 Nov 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Thanks so much!
I really appreciate your "yes" vote on my RfA. That was very kind. Cheers! Joyous 00:00, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC)
[edit] Misunderstood
I'm more misunderstood than you could possibly imagine. More misunderstood than the long-term effects of the Punic Wars. More misunderstood than Pink. If only you saw how misunderstood I was, maybe you would show more restraint before deleting my eminently sensible copy of the John Ashcroft page. I think we are all entitled to our little place on wikipedia, don't you? I certainly do. And I don't think this point will be misunderstood by you. Misunderstandings are avoidable. I think we should both do our part in the future. Thank you, good day, and keep up the fight against real patent nonsense that threatens the future viability of Wikipedia for our children. We have no other choice. We must move onward. Nothing will stand in the way of creating the best copyleft encyclopedia that our collective energy can create. Nothing will stop the brilliant prose that flows from our keyboards into the collective consciousness of the internet and the minds of free people worldwide. Nothing will end our fight against censorship in Russia and the Baltic States that keeps Wikipedia from them. We will prevail, once we are able to identify who the real enemies are in Wikipedia and fight them with all of our collective might. We will prevail through rollbacks, good editing, expedient blocks, collective arbitration, fairness, and most of all, reason. I know that you know this. Since you know this, certainly you should be willing to reconsider certain viewpoints. Creativity has to be fostered, truth has to be created where once there was none. If this is not to be done by us, it will not be done. If it is not done by me, it will not be done. If it is not done by you, it will not be done. Done is done, and it will be done or it will not be done. And when it is done, we will all be thankful that it is done and will feel foolish for ever standing in the way of it being done or not working hard enough to make it done. Done will be such an obvious conclusion that we will question ourselves why we never thought of it before. And after our conclusion, we will be done. Done will then be done. Done.

Thanks for your supportive vote of my bureaucratship. Unfortunately, the vote was judged to be too close, but I hope you'll support me when I run again. :) Andre (talk) 15:58, Nov 16, 2004 (UTC)

Good, you're online right now. You might remember this one. Would you take a look at Murder party? It has been tagged for Speedy but I clearly recall a VfD a few months ago (article kept) about this same game. I would rather redirect than delete outright, but I can't remember the name of the name of the other article and don't really want to wade through all that history to find it. I'm hoping you might recall it. Don't waste a lot of time on it, though. It is just bugging me because I keep feeling like I'm about to remember the name. Agh! :-) SWAdair | Talk 09:38, 18 Nov 2004 (UTC)
- Found it! It's Murder mystery game. I've redirected it. --Slowking Man 09:43, Nov 18, 2004 (UTC)
+ Hi ! I'm the author of this article : "murder party". I'm affraid you confuse murder party and murder mystery games. As far as they are very close, they are not the same. I know my English is not very good, but please undestand this. A murder mystery game is a guided games, and a murder party is a game in which the players are free to act : no written questions or answers. It maskes a great difference. Take a look at www.murder2000.com if needed. Thank you for your comprehension.
