[edit] Cooperation board launched
A new (and overdue) Greek and Turkish cooperation and notification board has been launched here. Stop by, have a look and sound off! Cheers! Baristarim 07:19, 26 November 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Same one slogankid
How are you :)? Aristovoul0s 06:11, 4 December 2006 (UTC)
slogankid things got better... :))) ...but your blatant and hateful re-writing of history is desicable. Its shameful, really and truely shameful. I also notice that none of our less nationalistic greek editors have seen fit to attempt to balance out that entry. This is why Wikipedia is a flawed concept and will only ever be of use for non controversial subjects. Adam777 16:30, 2 November 2006 (UTC) ...is just a blatant POV push by an editor whose bias and nationalism are clearly evident from his past edits....Adam777 14:57, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Im not a sockpuppet!!! not even a bot anymore!!! Those days are over... Nice !!! :))))
Im ok Slogankid thanks. Btw you have done nothing wrong. Basicly i had password problems :). What news from the west? Aristovoul0s 11:20, 10 December 2006 (UTC)

- Grow up dude, if I have a contrary opinion then I shall place it on Wikipedia as per the rules of the site. Your distorted and hateful view of Cypriot history is laughable anywhere outside of Greece. The world knows full well what happened to the Turkish Cypriots and no matter how you deny it it doesnt make GC actions any less barbaric. I can see that gets under your skin and frankly I dont care. Adam777 17:44, 12 December 2006 (UTC)

- Actually I am free to write my opinions on talk pages, that is what they are for. You really need to learn how Wikipedia operates. Maybe a grown up could explain it to you. Merry Christmas Adam777 15:55, 13 December 2006 (UTC)

- I'll say it again, people are free to write their opinions on talk pages. Thats how concensus is formed. You really don't have a clue how Wikipedia works do you. Seriously try reading up on the issues you are (once again) quite wrong. Have fun for Christmas.Adam777 14:10, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

- Here are some UN docs for you to look up, I recall how you and your mate like to use the UN to back up your hate-fueled arguments. Im sure you can ignore these or call these lies as you wish, once you come up with lies to counter these then I have more for you, there is no fool like the one that refuses to see. Have a hateful day now. Adam777 14:32, 14 December 2006 (UTC)

- On 8th December 1967 the UN Secretary-General reported to the Security Council (UN doc. S/8286): "When the disturbances broke out in December 1963 and continued during the first part a964 thousands of Turkish-Cypriots fled from their homes, taking with them only what they could drive or carry, and sought refuge in what they considered to be safer Turkish-Cypriot villages and areas."

- In September 1964 the Secretary-General reported to the Security Council (UN doc. 5950): "In addition to the losses incurred in agriculture and in industry during the first part of the year, the Turkish Cypriot community had lost other sources of its income including the salaries of over 4,000 persons who were employed by the Cyprus Government."

- During the period 1963 to 1974 the freedom of movement of Turkish Cypriots was severely restricted (UN docs. S/5764, S/5950, S/7350); they were denied postal services (UN docs. S/5950,S/7001); their access to building materials, electrical equipment, motor parts, fuel, chemicals and many other commodities was severely restricted (UN docs. S/5950, S/7350); and Turkish Cypriot refugess had to live in tents and caves.

- On 10th September 1964 the UN Secretary-General reported: "The economic restrictions being imposed against the Turkish Cypriot communities, which in some instances has been so severe as to amount to veritable siege, indicated that the Government of Cyprus seeks to force a potential solution by economic pressure." [edit] Your personal attacks on me
You could just leave me the hell alone and keep your inane, idiotic, incorrect and imature views on my activities on wikipedia to yourself. You are the one who initially accused me of harrasment on my talk page for disagreeing with a nationalistic and highly biased editor on posts that had nothing to do with you. If you would have bothered to keep your unrelated opinions to yourself and not make the inital personal attack against me then we wouldnt be talking now. If you want to quote the rules then you had better adhere to them as well. Your hypocrisy is almost as staggering as your ignorance of history. Now go and read wikipedias rules on assuming good faith, harrasment and personal attacks will you sweetie :). Adam777 17:37, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
- For what it's worth, counting personal attacks and wikilawyering over them is a waste of time, as no sanction is going to be applied; I advise against taking full advantage of that fact though as in the post above. Adam: you seem to think that Turkey can do no wrong. LOL -- you think that the Greeks are the problem on Cyprus? Turkey and its thug-puppets are the problem there. It's their admirable acts which have generated the most dead and refugees (sorry to shock you about it, but reportedly most Turkish revisionists pretend none of that happened, so you may not have heard of it). Slogankid, don't bother replying to the "hypocrisy" accusation by pointing out that the post above containing complaints about "personal attacks" contains more personal that all your posts put together ;-) //Dirak 18:00, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
-
- Is it a national pastime to butt into disagreements that have nothing to do with you in the first place? Dirak, if we were to converse you would find my views are far different from what you have inferred. However the initial poster I was debating issues with (who has the good grace not to make adolescent accusations hither and thither) and his friend here are of the opinion that there were no human rights abuses perpertrated on Turkish Cypriots in any way, at any time. History (the actual real kind of history as opposed to whatever passes for a school sylubus in Greece) clearly shows the opposite and shows a nation torn aside by inept and untrustworthy politicians and external influence. Its not the actions of either party that inflame me its the nationalistic bias that attempts to re-write history to show only the Greek Cypriots as having suffered in Cyprus. The truth is far removed from that fiction. Adam777 18:48, 14 December 2006 (UTC)
No1 has said tc didnt suffer. More GC died and lost their homes. Fact. You are not protecting TC rather than turkey. Turkeys excuse to invade cyprus was the TC even though nt much happened. Turkey fucked up the lives of ALL cypriots. Adam777 clearly dsnt know what he is talking about by his posts. I dont think i have personally attacked you much--Slogankid 11:28, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- Not Much Happened?
- On 28th December 1963 the Daily Express carried the following report from Cyprus: "We went tonight into the sealed-off Turkish Cypriot Quarter of Nicosia in which 200 to 300 people had been slaughtered in the last five days. We were the first Western reporters there and we have seen sights too frightful to be described in print. Horror so extreme that the people seemed stunned beyond tears."
- On 31st December 1963 The Guardian reported: "It is nonsense to claim, as the Greek Cypriots do, that all casualities were caused by fighting between armed men of both sides. On Christmas Eve many Turkish Cypriot people were brutally attacked and murdered in their suburban homes, including the wife and children of the head of Turkish Cypriot army medical services - allegedly by a group of forty men, many in army boots and greatcoats." The Turkish Cypriots fought back as best they could, but there were no massacres of Greek Cypriot civilians.
- In December 1963 the Greek Cypriots excluded the Turkish Cypriots by intimidation or physical force from all their positions in the Government of Cyprus. The Commons Select Committee found: "In February 1966 for instance Makarios declared that the 1960 Agreements had been abrogated and buried, and when in July 1965 the Turkish Cypriot members of the House of Representatives sought to resume their seats they were told that they could do so only if they accepted the legislative changes to the operation of the Constitution enacted in their absence."
- Those are just three examples. How many children have to be killed and how many women raped (on both sides) before you no longer class it as 'Not Much'. Adam777
I mean nt much more happened to 1 side than the other. Ur obviously biased to only report 1 side--Slogankid 14:15, 15 December 2006 (UTC)
- No mate I am no more biased than you and the rest of the nationalists that pretend history never happened. What I am is very anoyed when people try to re-write history in a nationaistic and appologist manner to cover over human rights abuses and paint an incorrect picture of reality. Thats what Aristovolus does with many of his edits and articles. His article on Cypriot Refugees went so far as to claim that the enclaves came about becuase TC's moved willingly into them in order to obtain takism........ thats just a load of bullshit. When both sides can put their hands up and say, look this happened and we strongly regret it then maybe Cyprus will have a chance. But for now I see one side working towards a compromise and one side flatly refusing to have anything to do with that.
- Whilst the ROC continues to deny, as Aristovoulus does, that there were human rights abuses perpertrated and maintains a stance that there can be no compromise with the TRNC then Cyprus will stay divided. That tactic has done ONLY one thing since 1974, and thats help to get GC politicians elected. Hell I could run for office in Cyprus on a TC bashing platform promising 'no surrender, no compromise and no rights for Turks' and I'd get elected. It wouldnt help Cyrpus but it would get me a cushy Job. And before you mention Dektas....I agree he did exactly the same thing.
- So as long as people attempt to re-write history I will continue to get vexed with them. And for the matter I also feel the same about Turkey and the Albanians, Serbia and Kosovo and Darfur. However this little exchange is about Cyprus. Personally I doubt the green line will ever dissapear, we can argue about legalities and semantics all day, it wont remove one single Turkish soldier from Cyprus. The only thing that will do that is a negotiated agreement that protects the TC minority from repeats of past discrimination and addresses the right of return for the GCs that lost their lands and property. Cyprus is NO CLOSER to that agreement than they were in JUly 1974, 32 years ago. I wonder how many GC politicians have been elected on a 'pro-solution' platform as opposed to a 'anti-turks' platform, those numbers might tell you something about who gets what from the current situation. [edit] Master Exploder deletion
Hi,
Master Exploder was deleted. However, it is now up for deletion review. Since you voted to keep it, I suggest that you comment at Wikipedia:Deletion_review#Master_Exploder. I believe that the vote, while in favor for deletion, was too close to be closed at the time. Thanks. Milchama 03:08, 20 December 2006 (UTC)

On the main page, you have made a tiny typing mistake: "[here|User:Slogankid/userboxes]" should be "[User:Slogankid/userboxes|here]". Otherwise, whenever a person clicks on it to see our userboxes, s/he finds himself/herself in the article "Here", like I did :)) Okan 09:39, 28 January 2007 (UTC)
