This article appears to be largely based on an independent study written by a college student (Fullerton, Lindsay (February 1, 2006). "Barrelhouse Blues: The Cultural Integrity and Political Resistance of the Slow Drag and the Jook Institution".). The paper is no longer online so the original sources cannot be verified, and access from the internet archive has been blocked by robots.txt.
