The 1. slovenská futbalová liga is the second division of Slovak football. There are 12 teams in the competition.

He league was formed in Czechoslovakia era, in the name of slovenská národní futbalová liga or SNFL, which have 16 teams. Along with Česká národní fotbalová liga, is the second highest football division of Czechoslovakia. Due to Dissolution of Czechoslovakia, 6 teams in SNFL were promoted to newly formed Slovak Superliga. The league was expanded to 18 teams in 1996-97 season, but back to 16 in 2001-02 and 12 in 2006-07.

  2. ^ Steel Trans Ličartovce moved to Košice and changed name to MFK Košice.
  3. ^ FC Rimavská Sobota started the competition with -6 points.
  4. ^ Družstevník Báč play home matches at Šamorín.
  5. ^ OFK Veľký Lapáš merged with FC Nitra and became their reserve team. Home matches played in Veľký Lapáš
