I see mention of retro or antique steel slinkies and genuine branded plastic ones.
With my girlfriend, I recently purchased, new in a gas station for a fairly low cost, a slinky-branded all-steel slinky. The packaging was pretty low-key, it was in a box just large enough to contain the slinky itself. They are apparently available online from the original branded manufacturer for the same price (the MSRP I guess?) as well at www.poof-slinky.com. I found this using a search for "james industries inc".
Are the new ones considerably different? They seem the same as the steel units I had as a kid in the late 70s and early 80s? Zaphraud 23:15, 15 November 2006 (UTC)
