Slightly Odway is the debut album from Jebediah, released on 8 September 1997 by Murmur. The album reached a peak of number seven on the national Australian charts due to the success of tracks like Leaving Home and Military Strongmen and number 2 on the ARIA alternative charts, within four months it was certified gold and eventually went double-platinum.

The album title Slightly Odway is a comment on the slightly odd way the band feel they approach life as well as music.

The backing singers on La Di Da Da include members of Sandpit and Fur as well as Heath, Jebediah's manager. The members of Something for Kate were also supposed to attend but had other commitments.

The bowling green on the artwork of the album is the Kardinya Bowling Club, where Vanessa's grandparents play.

The Vinyl version of Slightly Odway contains a bonus hidden track, a new version of Tracksuit, recorded with Neill King, it is Track 6.

The Asian version of Slightly Odway, released in 1998, also contains Tracksuit and Monument as well as a printed copy of the lyrics.

If you play the intro to Invaders backwards there is a secret message contained in the alien voice: "And then they will be gone, and then they will be gone, and all earthlings, all earthlings, we have arrived, all earthlings!"

The B-side to the Military Strongmen single, Slightly Odway is the just the bass and voice tracks from the last chorus of You. If you turn it up and listen real close you can hear the guitar tracks from You.
