[edit] Steve Brookstein

I notice that you added some content to the above. WOuld you by any chance be able to source citations for these tidbits I tagged? Cheers, Ohconfucius 01:20, 11 May 2007 (UTC)

Replaced rather than added. I'm not sure exactly what elements you think need citations? The first album was entirely cover versions. The second album included several more. The set list for the tour was based on the tracklistings from both albums, so therefore the majority were covers. That much alone can be garnered from any promotional material for the tour either on the artist's own website, or the websites of the venues / ticket agencies concerned, or from any of the subsequent reviews.

For the second instance, what concerns you? The email, or the price of the tickets? I have a screencap of the email, which is about as conclusive as any such citation could ever be. However, there is one slight inaccuracy as far as the source for the mailing list is concerned, which I shall correct presently. Email: http://img256.imageshack.us/my.php?image=stevejq4.png

It seems adding 'citation needed' wherever possible on Wikipedia pages has become the latest craze. Before long, those words will doubtlessly out-number the presence of 'the' or 'and'. And then what - citation needed for the addition of 'citation needed'? These instances may perhaps be exceptions, but surely there comes a time when common knowledge has to prevail?

On 30April 2007, you added 'citation needed' to the Trivia section of the same page. I appreciate that you're not a UK resident. However, as the artist concerned is all-but completely unknown outside of the UK, it stands to reason that virtually all visitors to that particular page will be UK residents who are aware of both the artist and the show (X Factor) which afforded him his 15 minutes of fame. The fact that the proceeds from his first single were donated to the Tsunami Disaster Fund are indeed common knowledge. Advertisements in UK national newspapers, an appearance on The Frank Skinner Show (Brookstein accompanied by Simon Cowell), the Top of the Pops performance of the single, etc. all trumpeted the fact. Therefore, there's no more reason to add 'citation needed' in this instance than there is for me to do the same throughout the Wikipedia entry on the US Constitution, for example.

I salute your dedication to the Wikipedia cause. But please, kindly refrain from tampering simply for the sake of it. Slayerofcheese 21:02, 14 May 2007 (UTC)
