Isn't there a better name for this article? It says right in the article that calling it Slashcode is incorrect. Eurleif 01:25, Dec 27, 2003 (UTC)

Also, Slashcode redirects to this page, but it references itself as Slashcode instead of the upper camel case version. Does anyone know if this should actually be at SLASH or Slashcode?- DropDeadGorgias (talk) 20:37, Jun 2, 2004 (UTC)
The CMS's being called "Slash" is right on the Website. (It's an article category.)—Boarder8925 02:50, 13 Mar 2005 (UTC)

[edit] php nuke

PHP-Nuke is only like Slash(code) in that it is a "community" centered CMS. It's structure is no more like Slash than any of the other listed CMS apps.

[edit] Making pages look like 1997 since 1999

I'm surprised nobody here mentioned the huge bugs that are still in Slashdot and their clones:

  • Poor internationalization and Unicode support (and no support for posts).
    • Basically relies on 7-bit ASCII.
    • Any foreign characters are stored as &#XXX;, but are frequently "double-escaped" to look like &#XXX;.
  • Pumps out way too much HTML code (for a subculture that prides itself on being on the edge of technical advances).

Is there any work being done to this system? It's as if there's a rip in the space-time continuum and people browsing in 1997 are releasing software in 2006. --Tokachu 05:45, 9 March 2006 (UTC)

  • It looks a lot more contemporary after the Redesign Contest winner's css was implemented[1]. They are still tweaking things as of this date, but it looks a lot better IMHO. badmonkey 11:53, 30 June 2006 (UTC)
