"and Jommy's mother is killed before his eyes" This is incorrect, so I've changed it. He hears it on the radio after they split up.
[edit] Plot
I read Slan many years ago and don't remember much detail about it. But I did do a bit of search on the web and what I found indicates that the Slan are products of genetic manipulation rather than random mutation. I will have to go back and take a look at the book itself. Does anyone have other input on this? - User:Fritz freiheit.
- I remember a bit for example, when Jommy follows the tendrilless, he is excited then their mind shields go up when he reveals himself, however a word escapes their minds : Snakes! From their office , a rocket regularly leaves for Mars. Jommy is taken care of by a drunkard old lady. He is made to steal. At a certain age, due to post hypnotic sugggestion by his dad, he goes to cave which reveals weapons. I remember also that he would read an engineer's mind. I wish they made a movie out of it.--Jondel 14:22, 4 Oct 2004 (UTC)
There is no reference I can recall to the Slan's tendrills rising when their telepathic powers are active. Also, agree with the comment above, Slans are created by Samuel Lann's experiments on his wife's unborn children - Andy Mulhearn.
- It's explained in the book that this is what most people believe, but that it's not actually true—it really is from random genetic mutation. —pfahlstrom 07:47, 19 January 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Future sequel
I sure look forward to the future sequel. That book should be made into a movie and should be popular even know. Stand aside X-men, Slans are the original mutants!--Jondel 12:26, 27 May 2006 (UTC)
