[edit] Summary

A woman is found buried in a playground/sandbox, which leads Grissom, Catherine and Nick to a fetish club owned and run by the mysterious Lady Heather, who would later go on to become a recurring character in the series. They discover that a man, who hated his wife and made the victim play the role of his wife, killed her. Meanwhile, Sara and Warrick investigate a robbery gone wrong that turns out to be more complicated than it first seems.

[edit] Critical analysis

This episode is unique in that it is a rare occurrence of nudity passing the TV censors on a broadcast television channel. As of Season Six, this marks the only time a "forbidden" body part has been shown in the series; in the scene when Grissom is processing the sandbox victim (Nicola C. Hindshaw), and the female cadaver's nipples and buttocks can be seen throughout several camera shots. For more information, see Nudity in American television. It is also one of only two episodes of CSI to receive the UK's restrictive '18' rating on its DVD release, for strong sexual content.

The name is a play on Slaves of New York.

[edit] Continuity

This episode is the first appearance of Lady Heather, who would reappear a number of times throughout the series. Her appearances to date following this one are:
