[edit] Major aspects of Slammiversary
[edit] King of the Mountain
Slammiversary has become the home of the King of the Mountain match, a five-man reverse ladder match for TNA's World Heavyweight Championship. The match debuted at TNA's second anniversary show, a weekly pay-per-view in Nashville, Tennessee, and has since been featured at Slammiversary every year.
[edit] Authority changes
On the pre-show to Slammiversary 2005, Larry Zbyszko took the mic and announced that former Director of Authority Dusty Rhodes had buckled under the pressure and would be resigning, meaning that Zbyszko would be taking over as interim authority as per his role as a member of the NWA Championship Committee.
In 2006, a much longer developed storyline came to a climax as TNA Management finally announced its long-awaited "new face" with the debut of Jim Cornette at Slammiversary 2006.
