[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Autobot logo s.jpg

Image:Autobot logo s.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images uploaded after 4 May, 2006, and lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot 22:00, 31 May 2007 (UTC)

[edit] The opening paragraph

Okay, seriously. How is the version now "minsinformation"? Sky Lynx did not transform between dino-bird and lynx in the show - he split off into two forms. Unless I'm forgetting some instance of that, in which case - quote it, instead of just totally reverting the page. There's stuff in there that's pure speculation that keeps getting restored when you do that, and it needs to stay gone (the abilities of his flight modes, for example). The (cited!) "Dinoblast" terminology is likewise constantly erased, and that list of "operational modes" makes very little sense, and has very little point when it's all described already. The whole things gives over way too many words and too much space to something that's barely worth discussing, inasmuchas as anything about the character is worth it. - Chris McFeely (talk) 18:32, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

If I recall in the Marvel comic he turned from dino-bird into lynx, instead of seperating, much like the Duocons. They made them more like triple-changers for some reason. Mathewignash (talk) 20:09, 3 February 2008 (UTC)

You're right, that's totally correct. It's what I've written - the other editor is claiming that it also happened in the cartoon, which I can recall no instances of. I'm happy to admit if I'm wrong, but I want 'em pointed out. - Chris McFeely (talk) 10:38, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
I will check, maybe he did do it once in the animated series, but it was more of an animation error when it happened. Mathewignash (talk) 22:19, 4 February 2008 (UTC)
There is an episode in which he transforms directly between lynx and dinobird. There is also an episode where he transforms from dragon to dinobird (the legs "drop off into nowhere" as many such things do in the animation). This is what I'm saying. The cartoon was no more "faithful" than any other interpretation of him. In the various animation and comics in which he is seen, it plays out as if Sky Lynx has five modes. Dragon, dinobird, lynx, shuttle, and dinobird & lynx split mode. It's in the footage (cartoon), the art (Marvel showing direct single transforms and Dreamwave showing him split), and text (original Marvel Universe was the only Marvel source that addressed him splitting into two). Yes, but what episode is it? I don't remember a scene like this, so I want to see for myself. Gimmie a YouTube link, even! But even then - it's a mistake! The cartoons had transformation animation models drawn up for the characters so they could follow the same basic pattern when they transformed. Sky Lynx turning from lynx to Dinobird on one occasion is the exception to that rule, and it certainly doesn't suddenly mean he has "five modes." It's different for each media or piece of fiction that he appears in, and the list as it was written made no distinction between that, making it seem as if the character could adopt five modes in any fiction he appeared in, which is wrong, and to claim otherwise is speculation and opinion - Chris McFeely (talk) 11:26, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

I'd certainly go with animation mistake. I'm watching an episode or two a day in my spare time frim season 3 hoping I can spot which episode and where. For all the flaws of the Marvel comic, at least it was consistent in it's portral of Sky Lynx, whereas the TV series seemed to change a bit from time to time. Mathewignash (talk) 22:14, 7 February 2008 (UTC)

I found one oddity. The episode Surprise Party. Sky Lynx is in combined vehicle mode, then his whole body turns into robot lynx mode along, no bird in sight. This happens about 16 minutes into the episode (you can see it 3 minutes into this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0BxTr3g3U4Y ). He's also portrayed as very small in this episode, barely being bigger than Ultra Magnus in lynx form. Mathewignash (talk) 02:30, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

Hurray! Glad to admit I was wrong, but I can see why I didn't remember that one - "Surprise Party," eugh! Well, that's that incorporated into the article. - Chris McFeely (talk) 12:19, 9 February 2008 (UTC)

The whole article could use a little cleanup. There's numerous typos, grammar and spelling errors, the layout feels a little amateurish (like does the 'nick names'(sic) really need it's own section?), and a huge bunch of the cartoon bio is dedicated to his appearance in TROOP despite having pretty significant roles throughout the whole third season. His debut isn't even mentioned. Takeshi357 (talk) 21:52, 9 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] That image

The image is awful. Kind of funny, but not really what we want in an encyclopedia; it makes it look fan-ish and unprofessional. Can we find another? Blackmetalbaz (talk) 13:37, 26 March 2008 (UTC)
