Skyworks Solutions, Inc. (NASDAQSWKS) is a manufacturer of semiconductors for use in radio frequency and mobile communications systems. The company formed as a result of a merger of Alpha Industries and the wireless communications division of Conexant, which took effect on 26 June 2002.[2] Headquartered in Woburn, Massachusetts, United States, Skyworks has manufacturing facilities in Woburn, Newbury Park, California and Mexicali, Mexico and design centers in Irvine, California, Santa Rosa, California, Newbury Park, California, Woburn and Cedar Rapids, Iowa. According to its website, the company has design, engineering, manufacturing, marketing, sales and service facilities throughout North America, Europe, Japan and Asia.[3]

The company's power amplifiers, front end modules and direct conversion transceivers compete for pin-compatible positions in many of today's handsets, cellular base stations, and wireless networking platforms. Skyworks also offers a portfolio of highly commoditized linear products, supporting tangential markets to automotive, broadband, industrial and medical customers.
