Skytop, Pennsylvania is a small, unincorporated resort community located in Barrett Township, Pennsylvania, a township of Monroe County, Pennsylvania, 36 miles southeast of Scranton and located within the famous Pocono Mountains. As of the 2000 U.S. census, the resort community had a population of merely 87 people. A 2005 Yahoo.com estimate places the population at 136.

The community is a hoopla of family-oriented activities that commenced in 1925, when Skytop was founded. It capitalized on the "Roaring Twenties" and became well known across the country. Today, it offers seasonal recreation activities such as skiing, hiking, and skeet shooting and is home to the large Skytop Lodge which is the central provider of such recreational activities, including its famous Christmas features, and for many Americans travelling to the Poconos, it is a favored hotel. It is also haunted.

A scandal at Skytop, coined Skytopgate unfolded in the spring of 2008 when several members of the Activities staff were fired or placed on a do not re-hire list.

In light of recent events associated with the Skytopgate scandal, attorneys have suspected foul play in the hands of Skytop's elite employees.
