Skyscraper Magazine was founded by Peter Bottomley and Andrew Bottomley and published its first issue in 1998. "Skyscraper" is an independent, quarterly music magazine dedicated to informed and insightful coverage of a wide range of progressive, adventurous and underground music. It covers everything from punk and post-punk to indie-pop to garage rock to electronic to country to avant-garde/noise music (pretty much anything that's a little left-field and exciting and bold). The magazine is often likened to an American version of The Wire or Mojo.
The magazine's cohesive, recognizable format (it has become renowned for the hefty size of each issue) includes lengthy, in-depth interviews; acclaimed music reviews that focus on detailed, critical analysis; and inspired articles that cover not only music but books, film, comics, occasional social and political issues, and just life in general.
