Talk:Skull Valley Elementary School District
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
I'm not sure why this page would qualify for speedy deletion. It seemed to be a requested page from the [arizona schools list] (perhaps this is even a formal project). Some of these schools have pages, and quite a few don't... they have links, but no pages underlying the link. As the school is an important part of the skull valley community, I don't see how the page is self-promoting or should qualify for deletion. But then I'm a novice, so if I've misunderstood some guideline, please let me know. --Pearrari 21:54, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
[edit] Deletion of Elementary or junior schools
There are tens of thousands of schools for the U11s in the world, maybe as many as 100,000 in the US alone. There could be perhaps a million such schools in the world? It is not possible to have an article on each one, they are not generally notable as individual institutions and I have been persuaded by others that they should be mentioned as a part of the article on the town in which they are located.Paste 22:04, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
If that is the practice, then I am surprised to see what appears to be a project operating counter to it, which I noted in the page. You appear to be a senior wikipedia kind of a person... perhaps you're able to extend this discussion to include the folks pursuing that project. As you can see from the List_of_school_districts_in_Arizona there are quite a few that are already created... as well as quite a few that are linked without a page set up yet.
As this is a rural area, this is the only school in the district. Originally, it was K-12, some 70 years ago, and was a two-room frontier schoolhouse dating back to at least 1878 [[1]] [[2]]. In fact, the original school still stands on the grounds and is an historical site.--Pearrari 22:39, 6 November 2007 (UTC)
