[edit] Speedy deletion of Skinning.net

A tag has been placed on Skinning.net, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read our the guidelines on spam as well as the Wikipedia:Business' FAQ for more information.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the article's talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Image Copyright problem

Thank you for uploading Image:SkinningDotNet Logo.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously. [edit] Notability of Skinning.net

The article Skinning.net has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done because the article seemed to be about a real person, organization (band, club, company, etc.), or web content, but it did not indicate how or why the subject is notable, that is, why an article about that subject should be included in Wikipedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, articles that do not indicate the notability of the subject may be deleted at any time. If you can indicate why the subject is really notable, you are free to re-create the article, making sure to cite any verifiable sources.

Please see the guidelines for what is generally accepted as notable, and for specific types of articles, you may want to check out our criteria for biographies, for web sites, for musicians, or for companies. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. J Milburn (talk) 19:01, 17 January 2008 (UTC)

I deleted the article, yes, but I haven't deleted any images in days, so you are directing that concern at the wrong person, though I will help you with your image problems if you like, image copyright can be extremely awkward for new users to get to grips with. The vague assertion of being one of the 'oldest skinning sites on the Internet' is not a claim of notability- perhaps if you had a reference proving that you were THE oldest, then that would have been different. Please take a read of our web notability guidelines, and also some possibly relevent advice. The article was deleted under speedy deletion criteria A7, and after a reassessment of the article, I still believe that the deletion was justified. If you believe the page should be recreated, please show me some reliable sources and I will restore the article. J Milburn (talk) 21:16, 17 January 2008 (UTC)
