Skott Taylor (born March 10, 1980, in Nanaimo, British Columbia) is a Canadian musician, singer/songwriter and founder of NewSeed Productions. He is the vocalist and guitarist of Kuai Zi which formed in Beijing during SARS in 2003. He is now based out of London, England.
BRIEF HISTORY
Born and raised in Nanaimo on Vancouver Island, Skott was actively involved in music and performance from a very young age starring in numerous shows at Dover Bay Secondary School. Following his schooling at Malaspina University College he moved to Vancouver to pursuit his acting career. During his three years living and working in Vancouver he continued his passion in music, teaching himself how to play guitar and writing several original songs and lyrics. It was through the local music scene that Skott connected with long time school friends and founding members of DNA6, Alex Maher and Mario Vaira. By the time 2003 arrived, Skott was eager to set off into the great unknown and travel the world, which eventually led him to living in China. Between spring 2003 and 2006 he was highly active in the expat art scene and established several staples in the Beijing music scene. These included Beijing's only weekly Open Mic at Lush Cafe as well as founding 010's first and only Drum and Bass collective "The Syndicate". Sticking with his theatre roots Skott also founded NewSeed Productions during this time which produced English language theatre and promotions throughout Beijing. It was during his time in Beijing that Skott met Mike/Noah Burden, through the Open Mic scene, and they quickly found a musical bond that would carry them to London England where they both live now.
PRESENT DAY
Since arriving in London during the summer of 2006, Skott and Mike/Noah have been dedicated to launching their band Kuai Zi which mixes Blues, Rock and HipHop with consciencious lyrics of the times.
