Skopje statistical region

The Republic of Macedonia is divided in eight arbitrary statistical regions. The Skopje statistical region, located in northern Macedonia, borders Serbia to the north. Internally, it borders Vardar, Polog, Northeastern, Eastern, and Southwestern statistical regions.

The current population of the Skopje Statistical Region is 571,040 citizens, according to the last population census in 2002, making it the most populous statistical region in the country.

The largest ethnic group in the region is the ethnic Macedonians. Albanians are second. Roma, Serbs, Turks, and Bosniaks also make up a small population.
