Skookum (rock band)

Skookum is a hard rock band from Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.

Skookum was formed by Cory Van Ieperen and Nairne Morris who met while studying at the Emily Carr Institute of Art and Design in Vancouver, BC.

Skookum has a debut CD titled "Big Phat Sounds", and released a comic book "Skookomix" in conjunction with its release.[1]The comics were created by Van Ieperen and Morris.[2]

The first single off the debut CD, “El Stinko” is featured in a Vancouver-shot independant film titled Revenge Inc. A rock video was shot to support the film and was premiered in January of 2008.

Skookum’s highlights to date have been playing UBC’s Thunderbird Stadium and Richards on Richards as well as sharing the stage with popular local acts Moka Only, Sweatshop Union, the Black Halo’s, Todd Kerns and Crop Circle.
