Skol Lager Individual
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
The Skol Lager Individual was a one off European Tour golf tournament which was played over the King's Course at Gleneagles in Scotland on 16 and 17 August 1977. The event was cut from 72 to 36 holes (probably due to bad weather), and after the two rounds Nick Faldo, Craig Defoy of Wales and Chris Witcher were tied on 139 strokes. Faldo won a playoff to claim his first European Tour title at the age of twenty. He went on to win 26 more European Tour events, to claim six major championships, and to spend 98 weeks as World Number 1.
