[edit] The Tagline

The tagline of SKOAR! is ...When its done. It was created by Badri Narayan because he was pestered with mails pertaining questions on the release of the next issue.

[edit] Criticism

[edit] Piracy

Skoar! has been including full version pirated games in their DVDs. Skoar! denies this fact however, claiming that the games are abandonware even though these games are still being sold at well known shopping stores including online sites like Amazon.com. The DVDs they provide also contain keygens and No-CD crack for the games they provide, some of the games previously included in the DVDs were Call of Duty[1], Mafia, Half Life, Rayman 1 and many others. The march 2007 issue also featured the first-person shooter game, Max Payne with its crack . The recent August 2007 issue[2] contained full versions of NFS[3], Quake 2[4],Thief 1 and Thief 2 along with their No-CD crack. [5]

[edit] Abusive language use

The editor of Skoar, 'Badri Narayan' replies to the readers' letters with swear words and mockery. They have even created a section called "retard of the month" to feature the most hated letter of him.It is also alleged that most of the letters are fake, created in order to raise publicity and a look of style.

[edit] Editing writers' articles without informing

The game articles like reviews, priews etc. are edited by staff without informing the freelancer writers of this, to include more vulgar language and change the intended outlook of the write-up. This is done often and has led to a loss of popularity of the magazine.
