[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Mapcowles.jpg

Thanks for uploading Image:Mapcowles.jpg. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to indicate why we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.

If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies under Wikipedia's fair use guidelines, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. If you want the image to be deleted, tag it as {{db-unksource}}.

If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion.

[edit] Several Layers of Irony Ahead

Heres an idea! (message left to Skidude9950 from an anonymous user who fixed an article and got a snooty message about it)

Just an idea, but maybe since my edit pointed out that the page was useless because it had long been vandalized and not fixed, you should be thanking me instead of serving me with juvenile threats? Get a life (no, vigilantly patrolling wikipedia so you can have some dillusion that what you are doing is important or will matter 6 months from now doesnt count as a life)

And here was Skidude9950's response to that (snooty message count: 2)!

The posting you left on my discussion page is a violation of Wikipedia:No personal attacks policy. There is no reason to get personal. If you have a problem with my warning, I'm more then happy to discuss it, but placing profanity in an article is not the way to deal with vandalism. Also don't forget to sign you comments when you post. Have a great day! Skidude9950 12:51, 12 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Your VandalProof Application

Dear Skidude9950,

Thank you for applying for VandalProof! (VP). As you may know, VP is a very powerful program, and in fact the just released 1.3 version has even more power. Because of this we must uphold strict protocols before approving a new applicant. Regretfully, I have chosen to decline your application at this time. The reason for this is that at this time you do not meet the minimum requirement of 250 edits to mainspace articles (see under main here). Please note it is nothing personal by any means, and we certainly welcome you to apply again soon. Thank you for your interest in VandalProof. - GIen 16:46, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Misc

Your recent change to Q-Ball actually reintroduced some vandalism. In my reversion comment I referred to your change as "vandalism", but it looks as if you usually don't do things like this, so I assume it was a mistake. Sorry I made too hasty a judgement. Dark Formal 21:34, 21 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Cowles hall.jpeg

Thanks for uploading Image:Cowles hall.jpeg. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ccwaters 20:47, 1 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Speedy Deletion of User:LavaDiddyKong

Hello, Just letting you know that the tagging of User:LavaDiddyKong for speedy deletion due to nonsense has been reverted. This tag does not apply to Userpages as user's are premitted to put nearly anything on their pages, regardless of nonsense-factor. Happy editing!  Atyndall93 | talk  03:54, 13 April 2008 (UTC)
