Skive
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Skive has the following meanings:
- To skive is British slang for the practice of avoiding responsibilities (particularly work or school) because you want to do something more fun or just don’t want to do what you should be doing.
Skiving is usually done in a manner that you are pretending to be working when in reality you are not – for example being on facebook when at work (or if you are an expert ‘skiver’ your screen is strategically placed so that your boss can’t see it). Skiving is fun because it’s naughty.
- Skive also means to cut into thin layers, as to split leather perpendicular to its thickness.
- Skive (Denmark) is a place in Denmark.
