Skipton and Ripon is a constituency represented in the House of Commons of the Parliament of the United Kingdom. It elects one Member of Parliament (MP) by the first past the post system of election. It is one of the safest seats in England, with a large plurality of its population voting Conservative.

The constituency covers the whole of the Craven district including the towns of Skipton, Bentham and Settle. It also covers the northern and western parts of the borough of Harrogate including the towns of Ripon, Pateley Bridge, and Masham.

Following their review of parliamentary representation in North Yorkshire, the Boundary Commission for England has recommended only minor changes to the existing Skipton and Ripon constituency.

The newly drawn seat is formed from the following electoral wards:

  • The Harrogate wards of Bishop Monkton, Kirkby Malzeard, Lower Nidderdale, Mashamshire, Newby, Nidd Valley, Pateley Bridge, Ripon Minster, Ripon Moorside, Ripon Spa, Washburn and Wathvale

The constituency was created in 1983 from the West Riding constituencies of Skipton (constituency created 1885) and Ripon (had sent members to Parliament as a borough in 1295, 1307 and continually since 1553). The constituency experienced boundary changes in 1997 when Boroughbridge, Aldborough, Dishforth and the immediately surrounding areas were transferred to the new Vale of York constituency.
