Ski jumping hill

A ski jumping hill is a sport venue and is, next to the ski jumping skis, the most important device in the sport of ski jumping. The Scandinavian term "bakken" is also often used. The hills where the world class ski jumpers compete, is located at steep mountain cliffs and allows in corresponding length and heights difference – jumps of more than 100 meters. In hills which allows jumps over 150 meters, one speaks about ski flying.
