Description

We caught about 20 largemouth and bluegills this morning. All were on small topwater plugs, as the fish were chasing shad to the surface, with the exception of one. I caught the larges bass of the day (still small) on my new fly rod using a Muddler Minnow pattern I tied myself several years ago. Catching a fish on a fly you have made with your own hands brings a whole new level of satisfaction to the sport.

p.s. All fish were released unharmed.

p.p.s. Only because they were small. Had they been a bit larger, I would have cleaned and eaten them all.
