I am a law student, but alas not at Harvard. After graduating from Sewanee, The University of the South like Mr. Percy, I am now enrolled at the law school at The University of Denver. I discovered Wikipedia while I should have been reading, and I find that editing is more fun than reading the notes after Contracts cases. I am a Christian, and specifically a member of the Episcopal Church in the United States of America.

[edit] My Wikipedia Philosophy

Like anyone who takes time to read, edit, and add to Wikipedia, I am an information hound. I always have been. When I was a child, however, I had a hard time seeking out information. Any time I became interested in a new subject, my options to find out more were limited. I had to hope that there was a book at the library or an article in a print encyclopedia about the subject. Even if I was lucky enough to find a book at the library, it would be terribly outdated. All that changed my first year in high school. It was 1995, and the Internet was beginning to take off. Suddenly, any time I wanted to know more about any subject, I could seek someone out on the Internet who wanted to tell me all about that subject. No more hoping for a book on cricket in my suburban Colorado library. Not only could I find pages about the rules and history of the game, but I could find up-to-the minute results for the World Cup, and someone who would sell me a replica kit for all of the teams involved. Because I remember the days when all the information in the world was not at my fingertips, I believe that as much of it as possible should be kept on Wikipedia. Wikipedia has expanded my ability to seek out facts. I know that I can count on Wikipedia to answer my questions on nearly any subject. To delete articles because they do not strike you as the kind of material that needs to be in an encyclopedia defeats the power of the internet. For the sake of those other boys out there today in the American suburbs who are trying to embrace the world around them and not just the images foisted upon them by MTV and ESPN, I believe that we have a duty to make Wikipedia as inclusive as possible.

[edit] Future Projects

I hope to kick the Colorado geography stubs into shape, especially those relating to places close to Georgetown, my home when school is not in session. As an avid mountaineer, a particular goal of mine is to expand the existing information on the fourteeners of Colorado. I am interested in the Church, but since I decided to go for a J.D. rather than an M.Div. I am probably not the man to add to theology pieces. I do, however, hope to get some articles going on some of the more significant Episcopal churches in Colorado, starting with my church, the Cathedral of St. John in the Wilderness, Denver. I have also just discovered that there is not an entry for Hymnal 1982.
