[edit] Historical names

I was about to add history to the infobox, but...

Since SAIK's official webpage doesn't say, I am wondering about two occasions when different names were applied. It's always been Skellefteå, but both AIK Hockey, HC and AIK/IF, specifically in the historical tables at the Swedish Ice Hockey (records of the past) page (these are neither official or error-free, but accurate enough to raise some questions).

  • Most recently, did Skellefteå HC change back to Skellefteå AIK Hockey in 1990, 1991 or 1992?
  • (According to the history info on SAIK webpage, they became independent in 1985. This seems to match the fact that they are called Skellefteå AIK until the 1984-85 season in the historical tables, and Skellefteå HC until the 1990s, see above.)
  • Why were they known as Skellefteå AIK/IF from the 1965-66 season onward, and then just Skellefteå AIK again during 1968-69? Did the Skellefteå IF Hockey section merge, or did they split? (If they merged, when did Skellefteå IF start their Hockey section? Not really an important issue, but perhaps the team has older origins than they claim. I doubt they are wrong about themselves, but they don't really mention Skellefteå IF in their online history.)

Anyone with printed sources out there? --Bamsefar75 15:54, 23 August 2007 (UTC)
