[edit] Fluorite -- Calcium fluoride
Hi - the fluorite article is about the mineral, I moved your chem info box to calcium fluoride which was just a redirect. That now needs to be filled out as a chemical article. There is a mineral infobox table available (see sodalite) in Wikipedia:WikiProject Rocks and minerals which I plan to insert into the fluorite article soon. Vsmith 13:08, 3 Jan 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Image:Na-Light.jpg
This image lacks source and copyright information, I'd be grateful if you could edit the image description and tell us where this image comes from and how it is licenced. — Zeimusu | Talk 09:03, 17 Mar 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Edit summary
When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:
The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.
When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and could be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you. Oleg Alexandrov 19:48, 21 Apr 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Aldebaran-Sun image
Hi, could you give me the original URL of the NASA picture Image:Aldebaran-sun.gif so I could tag it as public domain? Thanks. Mysid (talk) 07:36, 28 September 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Sun
Hi, Skatebiker, I reverted the Sun Microsystems reference at the top of Sun because it is already referred to in Sun (disambiguation). There is a perennial tendency for folks to put lots of outside references into the "pre-article" stuff at the top, so it's preferred to put Sun Microsystems and all other Sun-like references into the disambiguation page. [edit] I need help
Hello VSmith, Femto, Iain.mcclatchie, Skatebiker and Ultramarine. I need help with regards to the damage(in my opinion) done by user Theo Pardilla. Please look at his contribution page, and in the history of some the articles he contributed to, please look at my contributions, under Sillybilly. What is the correct way to proceed in such cases? I'm fairly new to wikipedia, and not well versed in the control methods, if there are any.

[edit] Web-screenshot tag
The copyright status of Image:Flame-Rb.jpg is unclear. Please update or clarify. Femto 18:49, 30 October 2005 (UTC)
I've noticed you've uploaded some images tagged with {{web-screenshot}}. This tag is not meant to be used for images that came from Web pages; it's meant to be used for images of Web pages (such as Image:Wikipedia.PNG, for example). I've retagged the images below as having no license information. Please edit the image description pages to include information about the licenses these images are under. —Bkell 17:38, 31 December 2005 (UTC)
- Image:Downs sodium productioncell.jpg
- Image:Flame-Rb.jpg
- Image:Induction-furnace.gif
I repeat, Image:Flame-Rb.jpg from [1] is not a screenshot. Please read up on what a screenshot is and what exactly the Wikipedia:Image copyright tags mean before using them. Then retag those images as appropriate to their copyright status, or if all else fails mark them for deletion. Femto 12:55, 10 January 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Image Tagging Image:Na-light.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Na-light.jpg. I notice the image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, i.e., in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the image also doesn't have a copyright tag then you must also add one. If you created/took the picture then you can use {{GFDL}} to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the image qualifies as fair use, please read fair use, and then use a tag such as {{Non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other images, please check that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of image pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Stan 16:58, 16 January 2006 (UTC)

If you created this media file and want to use it on Wikipedia, you may re-upload it (or amend the image description if it has not yet been deleted) and use the license {{GFDL-self}} to license it under the GFDL, or {{cc-by-sa-2.5}} to license it under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike license, or use {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain.
If you did not create this media file but want to use it on Wikipedia, there are two ways to proceed. First, you may choose one of the fair use tags from this list if you believe one of those fair use rationales applies to this file. Second, you may want to contact the copyright holder and request that they make the media available under a free license.
If you have any questions please ask at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you. Papa November 19:58, 24 August 2007 (UTC)[edit] Color gadients in Redgiants.jpg
Hello Skatebiker, I'm working on a Dutch version of Image:Redgiants.svg, which was based on your Redgiants.jpg (now deleted). [edit] Traction power voltage
Hi - regarding your edits to Overhead lines, could you give some reference for the voltage? Looking at the photo caption the insulators do appear to be too short to be for 110 kV and would be consistent with 15 kV - I had assumed there was a 110 kV transmission network and 15 kV step-down for the catenary over each rail line. but please, comment and supply any refernce you can (this information isn't easily available on this side of the Atlantic). [edit] Disputed fair use rationale for Image:Owl2.jpg
Thank you for uploading Image:Owl2.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this image under "fair use" may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the image description page and add or clarify the reason why the image qualifies for fair use. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a fair use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for images used under the fair use policy require both a copyright tag and a fair use rationale.
If it is determined that the image does not qualify under fair use, it might be deleted by adminstrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you.BetacommandBot (talk) 14:19, 8 March 2008 (UTC)

[edit] Image: Eaf0.gif
Hi Skatebiker, thanks for providing an image for Electric arc furnace. However, are you sure that this image has been declared copyright-free? The EAF page used to have a very similar image, which was removed due to copyright restrictions. Could you please double-check on the copyright status of that image, and modify the EAF page if necessary?
